I did same as you was sick with all the drus. They gave me anti sickness injection so feel a bit better but still need me d's for pain. They said they will put me on crutches tomorrow. everybody apparently is very weak first day. I haven't eaten much no appetite but think we will both see improvement tomorrow. hope your blood pressure gets better.

good to hear from you ... so sorry to hear about your nausea - ow pressure is quite normal right after surgery - mine was too the first time around and I passed out when out of bed ...
pain was worse with 2nd THR and normal on day after surgery because the initial pain meds are wearing off - but this all wil pass -
I brought some dry biscuits with me to nibble on - maybe someone can bring you something y0u like to snack on between meals - I don;t know about where you are, but food in the hospital was really not that great (mildly expressed) -
anyway, rest and relax and embrace yourself for having this job done !!!1

one meter is great darling and going to the commode!!! SUCH A VICTORY
... do not compare yourself to others - it is not a race, you know - not too much pain relief then huh?
take it easy ... tough and rough in the beginning, we know all about that -
big warm hug and love

you have done so well and can only reiterate renees comments. you are so unlucky not to be able to take the painkillers. I have been on morphine and codeine although I was sick yesterday they gave me anti sickness injection and that did the trick forme also a great nights sleep last night after sleeping zero the previous night. glad your bp is getting good better and hopefully your temperature will improve when you see doctor. you were booked in for 5 days which indicates you would take longer as you are unable to take painkillers. I am booked for 3 days and private like you but they even suggested I could go home today but would prefer an extra day here resting. without the painkillers it makes it hard to walk as so painful at first but the ,ore you walk the quicker the pain goes. will write lire later aggiexx

just had X ray now - a little tip don't go commando like me.... I had nightie and dressing gown on but forgot to put on knickers . was a bit tricky when he did side of hip. I had to put one leg up on big cushion holding my nightdress to cover my dignity. just back in room so putting them on now.
Take everything in your own time and it will get better. This is my second hIp although I seem to suffer more pain than last time my recovery is quicker. The sooner you can put the weight on your operated leg the better it becomes. what hip have you got. I have a ceramic cemented now on both hips. hope all goes well with doctor . things will get better soon ...

glad to hear you got a good nights sleep it makes all the difffrence. I havent had any troubke nodding off, am still out a lot of the time. The anti sickness aand oromorph lnocked me out cold lol. Pain nurse has juts been in, not sure about that consultation I thinks she wanted me to choose what to have .
anyhoo will be kept on small does of oromorph and the cocodamol/ paravetamol combi for the next 24 hours, I can't imagine being able ,to go today that is amazing but I think you are right staying for another day to help your recovery.
Thanks you all for your help and encouragement I am feeling very positive and I am not sure if I would be without the support of the folks on this site.
I hope cathie is recovering well, I think she said she wasnt taking her tablet into hospital.
My main aim now is to get to use the toilet onstead of the commode :D

I had the same problem with my hip op...I kept vomiting up my lunch, dinner and breakfast... as if my body wanted to rest, empty!
The nurses said my blood pressure was too low, they said that the drugs to put me to sleep on top of the spinal were too much etc. But I recovered on the fourth day...
Sorry it's happening to you, but it's nothing to worry about, you will get better soon.
