I have had Lichen years. the mouth part has gone dormant for now with the use of triamcniolone acetonde. The patches on legs and feet itch like fire and drive me crazy. Just be glad its not lichen sclerosis like my mom.

Well you're very fortunate as I have been using this on my tongue at bedtime to add a protective layer to tongue so won't rub on back tooth that aggravates it. But sore remains

Hi, I have had quite severe oral lichen planus but after some searching and specialist dermatologists help, it is inow pretty much under control using the following: I can't use regular mint tooth paste as it feels like razor blades, I have found Dawood and Tanner tooth past in Brazilian Lime and Svicillian Lemon are wonderful, alternatively Oranurse do a unflavoured toothpaste all have flouride.

Ointment: Registars fobbed me off with steroid creams that just just slipped off my gums and made me feel sick with a nasty bout of heart burn, or told me to gargle with effervescent steroids for minutes at a time, which was pretty useless. A brilliant dermatologist told me about a medicine called TRINOLONE oral paste. You dab it on and then a layer of saliva forms a layer over the top to keep it in place - it's been a god send to me and taken me from almost unbearable pain to almost back to normal with the off flare up after drinking acidic food or wine!

I had skin Lichen planus but only on skin , it made my life worst but I am very lucky because i got the right homeopathic medicines that controlled it 100% . Medicines are -

    1. Juglans Regia ( 8 drops in 1/4th cup of water after meals )

    2. Merc-Sol 30 ( 20 drops mixed in white small tablets )

    3. Graphite 30 ( same as above )

    4. Kali-Arsn 30 ( Same as above)

Take above medicines twice a day . DO NOT drink coffee , onion and see results in 15 days only . If you are unable to find medicines let me know i will courier you free of cost . Say bye bye to LP

My mum has LP on her skin. I came across your homeopathic medicines  and they sound promising. I am unable to find Graphite 30 and Kali-Arsn 30. Would it be possible for you to send them to her? I want to get her started on this ASAP. Thanks

Hi Stephanie how long has your mum suffered with this and does she have it orally as well, I have both and am really struggling with it on my skin, I am 56 and am linking mine to an abnormal cervical smear that I had years ago, what about your mum ?  X

Please be careful with Kali Arsenicosum...research it first before taking it...can have some serious consquences...also Merc-Sol, which is  Mercurius Solubilis which is made with Mercury (poison).  Both of these can have very serious side effects.  Juglans Regia...which is walnut...you can purchase black walnut hull extract quite economically...and that alone may be all you need.  I have used black walnut for years without the slightest side effect. In fact when I was using it twice a year for a parisitic cleanse I just realized I did not have OLP or LS.  I'm fortunate to have a large black walnut tree in my yard and make my own tincture...I use the young walnuts and soak them in a jar of vodka.  I then add 5 drops to juice and drink it...working up to 12 drops over 18 days. You may want to start out with something not quite so questionable first to see if you have positive results.  Otherwise please consult a very knowledgeable person before experimenting with some of the other homeopathic medicines.

After reading all these posts I am sure I have OLP. My outbreaks happen every time I have a dental procedure. I am starting a coconut oil treatment. I will post later with any results

Hi. My story is every time I get a crown put on at the dentist my mouth breaks out. I recently had good luck with coconut oil pulling. I started pulling on a Monday morning and night and had great results in a matter of 2 days. I would suggest trying it.

I'm not Joann...but coconut pulling is that you put about a tablespoon of coconut oil in your mouth and let it melt...then you swish and attempt to push it to go in between and around your teeth.  Coconut oil has antibacterial properties so some get good results with this. As your using the muscles in your tongue and cheeks you can get a bit lame from it when you first start.

Thank you for your input. Ive been dealing with LP for about 4 years.

I've been to dentists, periodontist and they all seem to make light of it. I, on the other hand, look at it and almost am petrified at the sight of it in my mouth. I'm thinking of seeing a accupuncturist. Any suggestions to whom might have answers?

I have been to five doctors...dentists, oral surgeon, two ent's. No help. I only have one sore on tongue and I almost don't believe it's lichen planus. It all started with a small white cloud like spot on tongue. Oral surgeon removed it and took biopsy at that time was diagnosed as a callus type lesion. Six months later two more spots..had them lasered, came back went to ent and he did a brush biopsy and removed with silver nitrate. Biopsy cane back as lichen planus. Was good for three months and then tongue started to get sore.  Doesn't even look like much.  A small raised lump with a small white sore spot..what does yours look like.

Personally I have the distinctive 'Wickams Striae' white line on either side of inner cheek where teeth meet or 'white bite marks'. It started off as a symptomatic but I then noticed a few sore spots/at this time I was coming down with a cold/flu virus. This is when things became full on symptomatic; inflammation of inner cheeks & tongue, sores on side & under tongue. Early in all of this, I remember looking In mirror & I saw white at the back of my tongue- going down my throat (like an oral yeast infection). I would get small raised bumps diff. places inside mouth which would seem to go away but inflammation remained. I couldn't eat much and even when not eating it was very sore, burning sensation. When my body fought off the cold, everything started getting better but ever completely; the Wickams Striae remained and my gums & inner cheeks are very sensitive .

It is an autoimmune condition. Learning to live with it seems to be all over be can do.

      All the best
