Oral Lichen Planus

I got diagnosed with inflammatory lichen planus 2 years ago. Certain foods really get my gums inflamed. I see my periodontist every 3 months for deep cleanings....but this is what I do daily that saved me:
1) every morning and every evening before I go to bed I gargle coconut oil (before brushing) for 20 minutes.
2) I take an antioxidant OPC3 every morning on an empty stomach 30 minutes before you eat-this stuff helped with the lesions I started getting on my lips that are now healed after 6 months of opening and closing it was so awful.
3) I take vitamins daily
1,000 mg Vit C
1 Turmeric Capsule
1 Calcium w/Vit D
1 Activated Charcoal Capsule
1 Vit D3
try itbanyone one and five me your feedback.

I'm going to try this regimen. I have been dealing with this for a short time....almost six month and it's my first outbreak. I've been told that the first session (which lasts about a year), will subside but will still lurk on the fringes, only to erupt again depending on the foods, etc. we eat. My diet has changed considerable. I went out and bought these supplements you've listed and hope for the best. My lips are starting to be more painful, tight and sore all the time. I'm using coconut oil on them now with some relief. Will also look into getting the antioxidant OPC3? Thanks for sharing your info!

Hi yes MWF is Monday Wednesday Friday. I have actually stopped taking the lysine as it wasn't doing anything for me personally. Also if anyone is taking Lysine dont take it with Calcium together. It increases the bodied absorbsion of calcium so it's probably best to take on in the morning and one in the evening.
Question for anyone? I have mercury fillings and found my gums to be receding only where my fillings are and I have read that people as they got older, the oral lichen planus started possibly due to the fillings and once they were removed, the inflammation and everything stopped. Anyone having this same problem?

I quit taking the Lysine also Neena....didn't see any change. I'm still taking the 1000 mg of Vit C, Vit D3, etc....my LP hasn't gotten any worse, but it's still there so it must all be working. My OLP is good some days but then on other days it bothers me but it's also tolerable. What really bothers me are my lips. Trying a Vaniply lip ointment...it should arrive in the mail today. I found that the coconut oil didn't help keep them moist for too long although I do still do the pulling. Anyway, hope all is well with you...I'm going to check with my periodontist as far as the mercury fillings, I really don't know if any of mine are mercury...

DAWN did the VANIPLY lip ointment help with your lips? I am suffering horribly with LP on my lips and nothing I have tried has helped.

Sending you prayers and healing thoughts Neena! Let me know how the dentist appt. goes. Thanks for the tip on the Aquafor...I'll grab some today. Be positive and with all this stuff going on try to do something special just for YOU. We need to do that, this OLP is emotionally draining as well as physically painful. <3

Hi!
Thank you for your tips on your gum treatment. I'm happy to see posts regarding this I have not found in any other blogs. So glade you have found something that works for you. I was diagnosed a little over a year ago. Upon diagnosis I had white lacy lines all over the insides of my checks, red and raw parts all through my mouth and full circular lesions as well as pimple like erosion...my mouth was a mess. I am a naturalist however at first I did go with the oral steroid rise, things cleared up pretty fast (I also had finished an extremely stressful program so that was helpful in recovery) I then developed some red marks on my gums...I still have them and many more a year later, my lower gums have become super inflamed and are receding. I'm on a pretty strict health regime (although I do not view it that way) including many supplements, a modified paleo (no fruit, only berries). I'm going to add in your regime and see if it helps my gums. I also take CBD everyday which has been really helpful and I started to Incorporated a cannabis salve I'm rubbing into my gums twice a day (only started yesterday). I'll let you know if I have any improvements adding your regime.
Thanks!

Where do you get your CBD from? Can I order it online?

I forgot to ask is there a particular reason you take the OPC3 first on an empty stomach? (I usually take a shot of aloe in organic lemon juice and warm warm water first thing)
Thanks!

Hi There! you take it on an empty stomach so it's absorbed better. It's an antioxidant. My husband who is always sick with the flu or cold has not been sick for 2 years now since starting it. it's crazy because he works at a hospital and can catch a cold just by looking at you but ever since he started taking the Isotonix he has been well.....Knock on wood!
