Orgasm issues after Urolift

Posted , 23 users are following.

Has anyone experienced orgasm issues after a urolift? I had it done about 6 months ago. Im 63 yo and in good shape. My problem is when I have sex I have a hard time reaching orgasm. Never had this problem before. Also when I masturbate I seem to unload most of my cum (which is clear) before orgasm. Fix one problem create another.....

I just had the Urilift done 1 day ago and honestly I have not noticed anything new, peeing hurts but If I got to go, I GOT TO GO.

IF I have erection problems I don't see how it would have anything to do with the procedure.

      Hey Steven

Give it some time. I had mine done over 5 years ago still wide open. You should wait 4 weeks before having sex. I did it in 10 days got yelled at by my doctor. My orgasm are still very strong

That is right erection have nothing to do with the procedure.

Take care and let your body heal....Ken

Ken, why was your physician upset with you?Can having sex too early cause complications with the implants or urethra? I'm feeling pretty good after two days other than some burning with urination. I was actually ready to go tonight until I read this.

Hi, Thomas and others. I had the urolift on Jan. 12, four days ago. I have not done anything yet to have an orgasm, preferring to wait the two weeks recommended. However, I've awakened two mornings with raging erections that begged orgasm. Fearful of any pain in addition to p*****g razor blades, I forced myself to abstain. Prior to the urolift, nearly all my orgasms were intense but with no ejaculate, dry. My urologist said the urolift would certainly improve my urine stream and might possibly help the retrograde ejaculations; he wouldn't guarantee the latter. I don't care what anyone says, I WANT MY CUM BACK! I'm in a serious 2-week countdown.

This is an update from greg22767. It's been four weeks since my urolift procedure. My urologist immediately took me off my Tamsulosin. My ejaculations are, once again, strong and enjoyable but cause some immediate burning in the head of my penis. I feel confident that the burning will go away after a while.

I'm very pleased with the urolift procedure and its outcomes for me.

Hi Thomas. I am 63yrs old and had the Urolift at the end of September 2021 . Right after that I had improved orgasms but that slowly changed. Now no matter how hard I try i cant reach orgasm . I have not contacted my doc. about this yet, disgusted at this point . Thought i would see if you found a fix for this as im in no hurry to go back and get a scope shoved up me . Masturbation is same results as you..

I'm 60 years old and I had it done almost 4 weeks ago. I was in the hospital for 4 days with a Foley catheter put in after ER visit, unable to urinate. Catheter was taken out 6 days later. Since I have virtually no improvement in urinating, still go frequently during day and night. I am able to achieve orgasm and get a good amount out but my problem is I don't feel anything anymore. The orgasm sensation feeling is gone completely when before I got intense orgasms. This is very difficult to comprehend. The best sensation in life has been robbed from me! (I use daily Cialis 5mg).

I'm 66 and i Just had the urolift 3 days ago. My issue is, and i hope it's only temporary, is that every hour or so i get a sudden urge to ps and if I don;t make it to the bathroom in 5 seconds i ps my pants. NO control. It's not a lot since the main problem I had doesn't seem fixed and now iI appear to be incontinent. I don't know yet if i can get an erection or have an orgasm cause they said to avoid sex for at least 2 weeks. I'm starting to worry that I may have made the worst mistake of my life. I'm more concerned with the incontinence than anything else.

      Hi ryetim32,

I'm 56 (almost 57) and just had a Urolift done on March 6th of '23. So far, everything is good. I think I'm ahead of the curve as far as healing goes. Right after I got the procedure done, I had some urgency and a little bit of a stinging sensation right before I urinated. I felt a little pressure in my bladder as well. I was told all of this is normal after having the procedure done. One thing they told me to do was to take an over the counter medication called AZO. I took the maximum strength version and it has helped greatly in controlling the feelings of urgency. For some reason, I've was bothered with the urgency issues more in the evening than other times of the day. Perhaps it's due to something I had to drink. One thing to be aware of is AZO will turn your urine bright orange. It will fade out and go back to yellow as the dosage wears off. I am fortunate that I can still get erections. My understanding is that it's best to wait two weeks before ejaculating, although I haven't found out yet what the consequences could be if you don't wait. I have a call in to my doctor to confirm the waiting period. I would give the AZO a try. I think it may help you. Good luck!

Hi my husband had this surgery as well. He pees like a champ now. much better than me having to catheter him. Yet sex is not the same. Wish they would inform people about RE and he just cant seem to stay hard. I know this is more for men but I don't know what to do or how to bring this subject up without having him be self conscious about it. I believe he doesn't see any issues. Something has changed since surgery his interest level is down and its hard for him to stay hard. HELP

I must admit, as someone considering this procedure specifically because it is being touted as the one where there is little/no chance of ED, this is very concerning. And the fact that in this thread, the doctors don't seem to be responding to inquiries on this issue.. 😦

Was wondering if your husband has tried cialis/viagra, etc?

I had the Urolift procedure done about 3 months ago, and i also feel like it was a bad decision. i now have retrograde ejaculation. when I ejaculate it goes into my bladder, nothing comes out. Of course the doctor says, the urolift wouldn't cause that. it wasn't like that before the surgery. it's really disheartening.
