Hi,Im a 39 yr old mum of 3 and i have had terrible abdominal pain since 2004,all the different GP'S i have seen have said i had IBS.Any tablets they gave me were useless. Then in feb i went back once again but this time was offered swabs and a ultrasound.GP was very rude and did not
want to refer me as she was sure i was waisting time and money. My ultrasound showed a 10cm cyst on my right ovary, the radiographer insisted that i didn't go back to the same gp again.I then saw my gyno and she said that my symptoms were also signs of adhesions and ednomitriosis, that i'd have to have a endoscopy in 3wks to see whats going on.She doesn't seem keen on doing anything about the adhesions but if im in pain i think they should.
Can you give me any advice please.I also want my ovaries removed their all i have left after a hysterectomy in 2001. THANKS.

I was then referred to a general surgeon who did a colonoscopy, and an mri scan cos the gyny thought it was adhesions causing pain cos they attached to my bowel and bladder aswell. during the colonoscopy he removed a polyp and the mri couldn't show anything in my abdo cos of adhesions???? so whilst they don't show up on an x ray they do in an mri scan as it stops them showing other organs (if that makes sense)
i am still in alot of pain for which i take kapake and i also take movicol so as not to get constipated its more painful if i am consipated. i also taking anti depressants as being in pain almost everyday just wears me down both physically and mentally, and through all this i keep developing cysts which then burst then regrow and burst and so on, and they won't take out the ovaries cos it'll cause more adhesions and so on so it's a vicsous circle. been told they just treat me symptomatically when i have a bad episode and it will stop when i have finished menopause  i'm only 44yrs old and not yet started it........
I hope that anything of my experience with ovarian cysts/adhesions has been some help to you both.
wish you both all the best

I feel for you all! My story is almost laughable and a catalogue of errors. Began in October last year with what was thought of as a water infection. GP treated as such. After three weeks pain no better so I ended up in A & E where they discovered blood in urging be and scanned for kidney stones. This was clear. Doc asked could it be period blood, 8I had to remind him I had no womb as had hysterectomy 5 years ago! And he's supposed to have seen scan! Sent home to see GP who the referred me to urologist who said I could have CT in 2 weeks but admitted I'd be seen quicker if I got myself admitted in A & E!! So I did. After a day in cubicle waiting I was admitted and laparoscopy performed, adhesions were found and treated where an ovarian cyst was also discovered but not treated. No follow up appointment. What followed is 12 months of pain getting worse to be told a month ago that's cyst is only 19mm on a 22mm ovary so oophrectomy not recommended. After complaining I've bowman been referred BACK to original surgeon for a surgical review as adhesions are now what they think especially as left ovary never visible. Been prescribed mebeverine to relax bowels to ease pain! You couldn't make it up!!! Grrrrrr

I haven't eaten much today cause the movical hasn't worked and im scared of over doing it.Then my friend got in a mood with me cause i wouldn't go out for the night and said i needed it.She has no idea what its like,i tried to explain that can't cope with alcohol and i would be too tired but she said i was miserable,i just burst into tears and i ended up apolegising to her.I told her she'd be perfect working for the nhs - no tact and no idea.I'm like you totally peed off. :erm:
