Thank all so much for your replies. I hope to off work for 3 weeks and no more as we so short staffed and feel guilty if I'm off sick also. My husband is going mad about it. I will update you after Thursday. This forum is god send as I thought I was going mad and being a hypochondria.

    Morning Everyone,

Just need a wee moan, woke up this morning feeling and looking as if I have gone 10 rounds with Mike Tyson! Stiff aching back, ribs, legs and puffy sore hands my rings are tight on my fingers and weirdly when eating an aching jaw and finally my face looks puffy with suitcases under my eyes! Doesn't help I'm in the middle of the most horrendous period. Roll on Friday's blood test and the following appointment with the Doctor, I have taken some painkillers hope they kick in soon, thank god I'm not at work today.

Sabine just take care after your RAI and try and put yourself and your health first rather than worry about your work which I know is easier said than done just be prepared that you might feel worse for a while after RAI until the thyroid is killed off it does get better so stick in there.

Hi Kat. Are you feeling any better? When my legs were badly swollen I went to the after hours doctor at the hospital. He was useless, but he insisted that I couldn't by hyper as fluid retention was a symptom of being hypo so maybe you're ready for some thyroxine. That's maybe what's making your period worse too. You could do without that as well. You'll be pleased when you have your blood test and see the doctor then you'll know what's going on.

    Take care.

    Thinking of everyone.

It feels like the back nose is always trying to drain into my throat and then after a week or so I get the mucus up from the back of nasals. It's as if I can feel it building up and likei said it's a constant cycle my hayfever doesn't help either.

    Hi All,

Marigold I'm feeling a bit better today thanks, I took a nurofen before bed last night and that seems to have helped with the aches and pains. I can feel a definate change in the last few days, and I don't think it's just tired from going back to work, so will be interesting to see what my bloods come back at. I looked up hypo symptoms and I agree everything I have is on the list! Sorry for the moan.

Barry here is hoping you get your full results today, let us know how you get on.

    Everyone else ok?

Still no tfts been done,my gp is getting fed up of them now as well, she was ringing the labs to see whats going on.I am awaiting a call so she can tell me whats happened.

My tsh has doubled in the space of 1 week to 4.9 so it looks like i might be going hypo although i am still taking 5 mg of carbs once a day which i will now stop.

Anyway at least i got some good nasal spray  ,lets hope i get this phone call...

    take care baz

Oh Barry not again! At least the GP on your side. Hope she calls you soon. Talking of phone calls I called my GP this morning as I'm feeling more hypo than ever and I can't wait for another week, anyway she is just off the phone so I've to get my blood test on Friday morning and she has left me a perscription for 50 mg of thyroxine to pick up after which i've to start taking straight away. She says I won't feel better overnight but I should do in a week or two, thank god.

Barry, I bet you feel like you're banging your head off a wall, what a hopeless lot. I hope your GP gets something sorted. You should be able to get something simple like a blood test done properly. I hope you hear something soon.

At least you'll be able to get your nose sorted out.

Hi Kat. I'm glad you're getting your blood checked on Friday. I'm sure you'll feel better once you get on thyroxine. I'm on 50 mcgs. I call them my pep pills, I take it before I get up on a morning and that's it for the day.

I'm pleased your aches and pains have settled a bit. You don't have to be sorry for the moan. You weren't moaning, we're all here for each other. I don't know what I'd have done without the support from everyone on here. Take care.

    Hi All,

Uurrrggghhh I can honestly say I don't think I've ever felt so bad, couldn't make into work today. Jane I'm now full contender for your sleeping medal, I just feel so heavy, slow, tired, I ache everywhere and so puffy especially my face and eyes, horrible pins and needles in my hands and feet and so so cold. Sounds funny but I can feel my body craving for the thyroxine if that makes sense?

Barry how did your Doctor get on did she call you back?

Sue lobster get you, glad you had a nice visit with your son I have family very near to Anglesey we try and get down there at least once a year we are hopefully going in October. Hope your ECG went well you do sound like you need your thyroxine increased, I with you in the aches and pains department feel as if I have the worst flu ever I found nurofen helps but it's not everyone that can tolerate them.

Sabine I'm guessing by now you will be radioactive and hopefully realising it was no big deal, you may have a few rough weeks ahead of you like we all have but I don't think anyone has regretted having it, although I could argue that today! However I know that all my symptoms at the moment are due to being underactive and that will start to get better from tomorrow once I'm on the thyroxine. Stick in and keep us updated on here.

Jane how are you? Hope all ok with you?

Marigold thank you as always for being there, can't wait for my pep pill tomorrow I'll be biting the chemist's hand off :-)

    Take care,

    Hello everybody.

Sue, glad you had a good time with your son. I haven't tried lobster, don't know whether I fancy it. I'm not very adventurous when it comes to food. I think I'd have had haddock and chips. It's good news about your ECG. If you feel you need more thyroxine I'd get your bloods checked. If you're not seeing your endo yet your GP should tell you the results and whether to increase the thyroxine. I think I have a permanent senior moment.

My arthritis is playing up a bit at the moment, so I'm a bit stiff and achey too.

    Take care.xxx

Sabine, you'll be glowing now and wondering what you were worrying about.

As Kat says you may have a few rough weeks, but you'll get there in the end.

    Take care.

    Hi again everyone,

Had a phone call earlier today from my endocronoligists secretary, she explained to me that my TFS have been getting done but for some unexplained reason have not been getting sent to my GP.

Anyway although she couldn't tell me my t4 and t3 results over the phone but she re-assured me that they were within range hence why i am not feeling to bad.

    What a nightmare haha !!!

Glad to hear the rest of us coping ok,oh and the nasal busenoid spray i got works brilliant just one squirt up each nostril a day clears me..

    take care baz

Hi Jane. Forgot to say I started on 100 thyroxine, then after two months had to drop it to 75, and then a month later to 50. I've been on 50 for two months now and everything is within the normal range. Long may it continue.

Hi Barry. Hallelujah!!!!!!! I bet that's a relief. Why is everything so complicated?

    Take care.
