    Hi All,

This new layout is taking a little getting used to : )

I had the RAI treatment yesterday and am looking forward to hopefully returning to the land of normality : )

I've come here for a bit of a moan today, I came off the carbimazole and thyroxine last weekend to allow the 7 days free for the RAI, and I have been feeling really quite rough, I had the worst dizziness and nausea so far over the weekend, which ended with me trying to ignore it, going to the gym, then hitting a severe dizzy spell, lying on the floor unable to get up for ages, when I finally did get up i went to the toilet and was very sick, somehow managed to get myself home, then my whole wkend was wiped out by either sleeping, being sick or lying in a heap on the floor, this illness sucks!!

I am mortified about the gym incident and dreading going back next week, I think I will be walking around looking like a beetroot!!

That's my moan over and done with, hopefully the shame will subside : )

    take care all x

Hi everyone. Look for me in the alopecia forum. I've just about pulled all my hair out trying to post. lol I've had to register again and it wouldn't recognise Marigold so I'm now her twin sister Marigold_64. What a performance. Liked it better the way it was before.

Barry, I hope they start you on thyroxine.

    Take care everyone.

    Hi Marigold & Baz,

Glad you made it over! I hope the others do.

Barry sounds like your underactive, good luck at the hospital.

Hux, what an awful weekend you had, so now you are radioactive! So long as they don't let you go too far underactive then you should be ok. How long are you in isolation for? I had to stay off work for three weeks, which then turned into 5 months as I was left to go very underactive! All good now though.

Hi and hope you are feeling better, Have you researched Acetyl L Carnitine it was what helped me even more than the carbimazole alone and its a powerful combination. I was asked if I was anorexic when I became overactive and I couldn't put any weight on even with consuming a extra 1000 calories a day. But the Acetyl L Carnitine changed that with a month and I looked and felt so much better. I've posted a new thread with my own experience and things I've learnt myself since my diagnosis.

I'm still subclinical overactive and my TSH may never be in range but I now go on symptoms and my weight as its a big indicator of how much T4 and T3 I'm getting. Also how much i need to pee and if I'm overheating, And difficulties sleeping. Acetyl L Carnitine blocks both but not entirely and does not damage the thyroid. On carbimazole my liver function was always off and my lymphocyte count below range but now all good.

In the beginning i was so stressed and didn't have a clue how to heal, Had terrible anxiety from being overactive and just felt not like myself anymore. But I'm now 6 years on and I've learnt so much and some days I feel amazing but still sometimes I can feel I'm teetering on the overactive and have to tweak things.

Do you know what your TSH is and your Free T4 and T3?

Hi everyone, sign me up for the hypertension forum, its taken me days to get on here ! I may have missed some posts but hope Deb and Elaine ok with heart monitors. Marigold, still have migraine aura, I hate it. Like you I'm always wearing the dark glasses, so light sensitive, think the neighbours imagine I'm permanently hung over - I wish ! My last blood test was T3 3.71 and T4 13.8 so am pleased with that but again they didn't have my TSH which is the one that has been quite high in the past. Presume its ok. Sorry I cant reply properly, at the moment I cant see previous posts and having finally got on here am reluctant to try ! I'll get the hang of this eventually. Hope Sue ok and gets off on holiday. Hope everyone else ok, will catch up when I have read all the posts, if I ever manage to get on here again.! (Talk about if it aint broke don't fix it !). love, Bess.

Hi Bess. I'm so pleased you've found us. I'm sorry you're still having the migraine aura. My eyes are very sensitive to sunlight at the moment, I think it's maybe because the sun is so low at this time of year. I must look permanently hung over too. lol Your blood test looks ok.

I'm sure we'll all get the hang of this new set up eventually, but I liked it much better before.

I'm like you, I daren't venture very far incase I can't find my way back. We'll have to leave a trail of breadcrumbs. lol.

    love,

    Marigold
