Still getting headaches, so went to have an eye test and I don’t need new glasses, so I have no idea why I’m getting these headaches. I had my blood test this morning so will ring the surgery in a couple of days.
Love not being at work, but still getting some of the overactive thyroid symptoms. I just thought with none of the stress of work it would have settled down.
Barry, I have always had low blood pressure and low blood sugar and as Bess has suggested I always carry a small bar of chocolate with me just in case it drops even lower.
Hi Marina, I was diagnosed last July with Hyperthyroidism and like you my first blood test came back with a T4 of 64 and was put on 40mg of Carbimazole and like you mine dropped like a bomb and went totally the other way and I am now on Carbimazole and Thyroxin and touch wood it seems to have levelled out, I still don’t feel 100% but a hell of a lot better than last June. The guys and girls on this forum have been great and sometimes a lot better than my Endo!
Thinking of you all and take care

When I was pregnant (a long time ago) I had to have a glucose tolerance test as I had sugar in my urine. I was told that I was pre diabetic and I would probably develop diabetes when I got older.Thankfully this hasn't happened, and like you Bess fasting blood sugars have always been normal. I do get shakey when I'm hungry, but I think I have a fast metabolism as I don't put weight on easily. I think eggs for breakfast are a good start to the day, My favourite breakfast was a fried egg on toast, but I developed an allergy to eggs, so now it's cereal and toast.
Barry, it'll be ineresting to hear what your GP has to say. Maybe you should ask if you can have a fasting blood sugar to see what's what.
Hi Maria. I'm sure your hyper symptoms will settle down soon. Nothing happens in a hurry with thyroid problems. It's coming up two years since my Graves flared up, and I still have days when I don't feel right., but compared with how I used to feel I feel wonderful. lol.
Take care everyone,
Marigold

Kat, well done with the weight loss ! Are you hungry all the time ? That's the thing I can't cope with.
Marigold, interesting about the low blood sugar and Graves, it seems this blasted illness can give you just about anything.
Deb, how are you ? Are you ok ?
Maria, hope you get on ok, its a long old job this isn't it.
Marina, sorry you having such a horrible time, as Marigold says, you will improve but its scary at the time. I found this site such a help, it made me realise I wasn't on my own with this.
Elaine, are you feeling any better? Good news about the ECG.
Sorry not to reply to other posts, cant remember what they were by the time I manage to reply !
I hope it gets sorted soon, most recent posts first please admin !
Take care all.

I wonder if your symptoms are due to being hyper ? It would explain the loose bowels, night sweats, shaking etc. I would think that the sweats, being in the loo etc. might have caused you to be a bit dehydrated and this would give you the dry mouth, cramp and feeling so awful. Are you drinking much? Do you think you need to drink more ? The feeling at the base of the skull might also be as a result of this but it can also be caused by stress and anxiety and you've sure had a lot of this to cope with. If you haven't just had a blood test I would definately ask your GP for one so that you can get sorted out. You could try eating cheese or eggs perhaps when you need something sweet, it sounds as though your blood sugar is low and this also causes shaking and feeling faint. Hope you feeling better soon hun, let us know how you get on.
Hope you all ok today.

As Bess suggests it would be a good idea to see your GP and arrange a blood test. It's a long time to wait for an appointment with the endo. Perhaps your GP could have a word with the secretary and ask for an earlier appointment. Let us know what happens.
Thinking of everyone, and hope you all enjoy the weekend.
