Julie - it may be best to post your blood test results - TSH & TS4.

      Hi Julie

      I'm not sure of ranges

      What was Free T3?

No idea with Busy B i'm afraid,

Emis Moderator comment: I have removed the link as it was to a site unsuitable for inclusion in the forums. I have also removed the quoted normal ranges as this is entirely dependent on the particular lab where the test was done and the method used. It also depends on the units used in the results. If users want to get interpretations of specific lab results they should consult with their doctor.

Well, whilst I accept the moderators decision, the link was to a proper Thyroid site and people post 'ranges' on here all the time, so if it's not allowed, I ask why I was not protected when I first came here?

Looks like you`ll be kept back after school David- but never mind that.

Just hope you get well x

      Hi David,

Just to clarify, the issue with quoting normal ranges is you did so without quoting the units used. As Julie also did not quote the units used in her results the normal range may not be appropriate in this particular case. It is fine quoting them if units are also quoted so the appropriate range can be referred to. I have seen at least 4 different units used on various sites, eg ng/L, pmol/L, µg/dL and nmol/L.

      Regards,

      Alan

      Thanks for your reply, Alan.

I appreciate your points and appreciate you don't see all the posts but there are many posts that don't fit into those guidelines, but I personally will not be commenting on others ranges in the future to avoid any confusion.

Hi all , I have recently (very recently ) been diagnosed with graves disease, I have been feeling really unwell , down , had chest pains, racing heart , aching shoulders and thighs , have no energy at all, just wanted to know really is there any light at the end of the tunnel ? I have not been given much information about what to expect really . I have a 3 year old boy and just worried that I won't be able to play with him im so tired all the time , and my moods are so low , my main concern is him really , want to give him the best of me . I'm sure there are many people in much worse position than me , just wanted to talk to some people who are actually living through this and get the truth of what to expect , do the treatments work etc

hi guys I'm looking some advice/help I was diagnosed 4years ago with graves disease and the overacting thyroid. I was medicated for 2years with carbimazole then I was taken off it. so was left unmedicated for 2 years and continuesly kept saying to my doctors my thyroid is playing up and they didn't take no note so i ended up hospitalised where I was then told I have Thyrotoxicosis as I have been left so long unmedicated. my problem is Im either really exhausted or I'm running on adrenaline I'm rapidly dropping weight I can't eat and when I do I'm full after 2 bites. my muscles and bones are in agony every day I am 31 years old and I wake up feeling like an old women in her 60s this is really affecting my day to day life. I am mum of 2 and a carer for my oldest who has autism. I need help on how to stop the adrenaline advice on how I can eat properly without dropping weight drastically. and has anyone experienced abdominal pain all the time and sore heads I've had this sore for about 15days now the abdominal pain started about 3 weeks ago alongside the heart palpitations. I would really appreciate if anyone could give me some advice on how to help myself.
