How many days/weeks are you? Very interested to know when I can do such things!

I'll be three weeks PO on Monday.xx the reason I'm so tired is I didn't use a crutch to get about, aching and very tired.

And I bet you've got a freezer full of food!

and the other jobs could have been spread out,

with a rest between! We all do it, or overdo it!

tomorrow is another day, you can eat your soup, look

at your clean floor and admire your clean hair..

so relaxing. Just joking, don't take offence at my sense

    of humour.

Haha. Really funny whilst tucked up in bed🙈🙈🙈

We all do the same! Right from early on like you to months later. It is so easy to overdo it. But you must be progressing well to manage that without a crutch. I was still using mine at 5 weeks.

I can sympathise only 8 days post op and already made dinner twice, I find my operation area is stinging my clips come out on Wednesday I think the next 3 days will be of total rest. I tried sitting at the computer, but found the chair uncomfortable rather hard on side of thigh where op site is, so for this evening sitting on recliner chair with operated leg sticking out doing knitting ready to watch Dr who and casualty and wound is stinging codiene and paracetamol for me tonight lol

That computer chair will probably suddenly become more comfortable once the clips are out - mine did.

I love my recliner too - so relaxing.

Funny it's my knees that are most painful when I've overdone it. Slept for 3 hrs after my antics lol. Apart from achy knees no other ill effects. X

    Gaby,

My last words to you were "Don't overdo it" lol

I just knew you would - you are so like my wife - if ever she has to have a THR, she'll be doing just that.

Take it easy girl, be good to yourself, let that wonderful man of yours take the strain a bit.

We never learn do we - I overdid the walking yesterday, so had an easy day of it today, sitting down in the kitchen helping the wife prepare her traditional Polish foods and freezing them for Christmas, and then I treated her to a meal out this evening (she drove) then went to a classical concert.

    Best wishes to you all

As I said earlier I am 8 days post op but find my operation site is stinging every so often I have been given 30mg codeine to take with paracetamol, I did try to cut it down to 10mg codeine and 500mg paracetamol in form of cocodomol so I wondering if I cut it down too soon

What did you take and how long for?

You seem to have lots of energy!! I have no desire to go out at all at the mo. Dressing, make up, no no. Night. Xx

I took NOTHING other than my usual meds paracetamol and arthrotec( anti inflammatory ) I refused anything more, BUT to be fair, I had no pain just soreness. Ice took any pain away. X

      Gaby,

My wife, bless her, persuaded me to go - and I must say I enjoyed the concert (but then I'm a Beethoven fan), the meal was simple pub grub, but good too - feel rejuvinated now.

Have a good sleep, feel all better tomorrow.

      Best

Do you take codeine and paracetamol when you have done too much?
    • Posted

No, just paracetamol twice a day. If I'm really really really pushed might take an extra dose. I just use ice packs and heat cushion.
    • Posted

I haven't had my staples out yet, might try ice pack I can't take antiinfalammortories as I am diabetic

The anti-inflammatories upset my system terribly - had to cut them out.

I now just take paracetamol - one or two 500mg.

but staples out last week - I am at 23 days now.

Like Gaby, I had no pain, just soreness - it felt like a graze.

      Regards

      Graham
