Pain in anus, feeling incomplete evacuation

Hey everyone I'm new here and in need of some advice/opinions.

About two weeks ago i had a constipated bowel movement. That night started the pain in the anus/rectal area. Sometimes it feels like something is stuck in me or like there's stool in me that needs to come out. I haven't had any bleeding with bowel movements. My lower stomach also feels really bloated and has a feeling of being backed up or hurt.

My stool has been pretty thin lately too and almost has defined edges on it. My gi seems to think i was just constipated and experiencing ibs symptoms. I feel like i still have to go to the bathroom even after going a few times and producing stool.

The anal pain, feeling of incomplete evacuation, and thin stools has me so worried about colon cancer.

Has anyone experienced this?

hi carl, ouch! you are definitely constipated badly, have you got anything in your house to soften your poo, sorry not being rude! have been given sachets of powder to mix with water which will help to make your poo soft? it takes a few days, if you don't have it in your house go see somewhere like boots that will sell something called fybogel or laxido, both of these do the same job and help with this issue.good luck only eat soft stuff today until you get help. good luck, i know how that feels,i've been in hospital with it.

TY for your response. I'm able to produce bowel moments. They're just skinny, have defined edges, and feels like there's always more left to get out.

I could still be constipated with that?

Hi Carl91637 everybody who has ibs will get this and more. IBS is a problem with no cure. You will get constipation and and then straight after that the next movement could be diarrhoea After having a bowel movement you can get tummy ache .You will feel after a bowel movement that you have incomplete bowel movement. You will also have too be careful of what you eat, otherwise the wrong food can also give you bowel movement of diarrhoea and of constipation, one after the other.Has the doctor confirmed that what you have is ibs.How old are you .You could take buscopon which is a muscle relaxing for a swollen stomach will you can get from a pharmacy or on prescription from your doctor.Check out fodmaps on the computer as well

Feeling like you need to go when there's nothing there is called tenesmus and is very common with many conditions. it is due to swelling inside the rectum. it's harmless, but annoying! best thing to do is just make sure you pass soft stools and it will go away in time

Yes! it feels like there's something pulled at times in the rectum. Sometimes it feels like a small ball is in the rectum. Its a strange thing to describe.

I happened to have a urologist appointment a few days ago and got a DRE done. He said my prostate was slightly inflamed but that he didn't think it was really much bigger than it was a few years ago. Didnt think it was the cause of my pain but interestingly he did say the rectum felt slightly swollen too. So that would be what you said.

im wondering why it happened now

Hi I had the halo treatment for piles in January ,since then I have had to take fibre gel as I always feel as if I need to have a bowel movement just after I've had one. It's very frustrating and uncomfortable.

if this all started after that procedure then it could be a bit of nerve damage?

Interesting ,I obviously havent had a follow up appointment because of covid so just taking the extra fibre which helps alot .Thanks for your reply.

Hey, you mentioned tenesmus. I was wondering if you knew if that can happen with ibs?

My lower stomach feels bloated and passing stool still leaves me with the feeling of incomplete evacuation.

My first stool in the morning is the thickest one ill have. It's maybe medium thickness. Then the rest are about the thickness of a finger.

My mind is ravaged think this is all happening because of a tumor obstructing me.

Please answer, all responses are so appreciated

tenesmus is really common with IBS, so don't worry. stools often get thinner if you go multiple times as you intestines are squeezing harder to get it out each time as there is less there to come out

thank you for responding. im hoping thats whats going on. im trying to get my colonoscopy moved sooner than mid july.

what happens everyday: wake up have my thickest bowel movement of the day. second one is thinner. A third one later on will be almost nothing. tiny pieces and very short and thin pieces.

lower stomach feels backed up even after bowel movements. Feels like i need to get something out all day long

only thing i havent noticed is blood. theres been some mucus

about 4 months ago i had a stool test done and it didnt show any blood or inflammatory diseases. idk how accruate the test is
