Dear Friends, Hope you all are fine. I am 33 years old male and my gall bladder was removed 3 years ago. Till one year after the removal of Gall bladder, everythign was fine. But now for the last 1 year, i am having troubles related to digestion and constipation. My digestionis very slow and i often get constipated. I also feel tenderness and pain on my liver side. 3 months back, i had ultrasound anf LFT test and everything was fine. But my problems are there. I feel that my digestion is very slow and i sometime feel burning in my stomach. Constipation and bloating in intestines irritate me alot. I also feel itching on my skin sometime. I also lost 2 kg. i am already little under weight. I heard that slow digestion, itching and pain on right side can be related to liver cirrosis. is this liver problem? Is anybody there feeling same things? Do i need any other dignostic tests? What can i do to get rid of these problems?

It does like you are suffering from proper constipation.  Have you seen a Doctor.  This can be very painful and cause all the problems like you are describing.  I too have been in your position.  It's not nice.  Senna every night and movical every morning can help.  Along with things like grapes, raison, plenty of water.  Sometimes you can get irration in your stomach that is the burning, gastritis, that can develop into ulcers. Lansoprazole can help with that. Good luck going forward.

      Dear Dolly,

Thanks for your reply. Yes i will see dr this week. Is your gall bladder removed? My these problems, i think due to absence of gall bladder. My digestion was used to be so good and i never felt any such problems before. Now these irritate me too much.

I hope you got to see your Doctor and they were able to help you.  Yes, I've had my gall bladder removed.  And still get really bad constipation so need to be mindful of that.  I hear you about being irritated by it all.  It does get easier once you find what works for you and you stick with that.  You will feel so much better then.  Good luck

I am 4 weeks gb removal. I am suffering from nausea, still losing weight, no appetite, dizziness, fatigue, and right side discomfort, under rib area, and upper and lower back pain. Don't think the surgery cured any of my problems!

Thats true..there is no guarantee that all of your problems will go away after Gall removal. But keeping infectious gall can become life thratening if poision come out from it. So better get it removed and after removal, keep active and healthy lifestyle. Walk, exercise and good food are must in order to avoid these problems.

Hi, Debbie, I hope you're doing a bit better.  Sorry to hear that you're still under the weather.  This is major surgery, and your body still has to adjust.  Even the anesthesia used can stay in some people's bodies longer than usual.  Give yourself some time and treat yourself gently.  It takes some longer than others to recover.  Each case is different.  Good luck, and let us know how you're doing!  Lynda

Thank you Lynda. I'm trying to hang on to that thought, but difficult when a new and different symptom arrives almost daily. I have been to a host of doctors, have a bunch more to see, and no diagnosis. Seeing GI doctor on the 12th of this month, so hopefully will figure me out! Fingers crossed to us IM!

You're welcome, Debbie!  What's difficult is that all the body's mechanisms are inter-related, but doctors specialize.  So, what one doctor does for one system can have side effects for others.  This can be compounded by the fact that doctor's don't seem to be able to communicate with each other.  I hope that you get sorted.  One thing that I do remember was that I was often dehydrated, and that made me dizzy and nauseated some of the time.  Good luck!  Pleaase let us know!

I agree with you. Have said it several times....doctors have a very short amount of time to spend with each patient, and they don't read each other's notes, so, have no real idea or understanding what all is being done, or what others have diagnosed. There has to still be physicians in this world who treat the whole patient. Wish I could find them. Thank you for your reply! Good luck to you!
