I had TAH and a 16kg mass removed on 16 Dec (no malignant) my physio came to visit me before I was discharged from hospital on the 19 Dec. Her advise on how to do a protected cough was brilliant and helped no end as I had a cold. Put the flat of both hands, fingers pointing down to pubis, either side of the scar, lean forward and push firmly but carefully on your tummy as you cough, this supports your scar. I had a vertical cut, I'm unsure if just leaning forward would give the same support to a horizontal wound but give it a go, try looking on pintrest there's loads of help and advise, I find it really useful, I am still suffering from back ache but have been told it's my posture as I'm stooping over a little. I Hope this helps Luisa.

Hello everyone. I'm new here. I had my hysterectomy on Sept 18th. I have now developed a Sinus Infection so sneezing and non stop coughing. I am miserable. It hurts so bad to cough and sneeze. I started meds today so I'm praying they work fast.
