Painful Red Patches On Glans For Over A Month - PLEASE HELP
Posted , 4 users are following.
I am 16, uncircumcised. There are IMAGES attached. These red patches have been on my penis glans and inner foreskin for a very long time, around one and a half months. Getting hard hurts and so does masturbation. Putting water on it hurts after masturbation (I did not even get hard for the past 3-5 days, so putting water doesn't really hurt). There is a yellowish discharge which is produced more when I apply creams (will discuss about that). So when the mild pain had started (mostly after masturbation) I applied three creams.
1. Soframycin
2. Betnovate
3. Candid
I'd mix them on my finger tips and apply it at least twice a day. It would result in a discharge under the foreskin (not from the pee hole) which is yellowish and thick and slimy. Doesn't really smell. Discharge is produced without medicine as well but in very small amounts (could be because of the medicine which wasn't washed away).
The redness started to go away, didn't hurt much either. But at that time I was dieting and masturbating very less (I'm obese and at that time I had lost 8 kgs). But when it was healing I went to a wedding (I was losing weight for this wedding) and ate a lot, and I stopped dieting and got back to eating all the time. And the medicines stopped working, the patches started increasing (along with eating a lot, I even started masturbating everyday twice or thrice). Could this be due to increase in blood sugar levels because I stopped dieting or due to excessive masturbation or both?
So they have become like shown in these images. They were not as red before. So after a month of applying these medicines, no improvement. But the discharge would still come.
I went to a dermatologist two days ago, told him all this, he just saw from a distance, didn't examine and all. He took a urine sample whose reports should come by tomorrow and he changed the medication:
>Fusidic acid cream at night
>Miconazole nitrate cream in morning
>Cefixime antibiotic tablets for 3 and a half days, total 7 tablets
>And two other tablets, one before breakfast and one before sleeping (both for 4 days)
The new creams cause burning sensation which the mixture of three creams (that I used to apply before) did not cause. Maybe due to absence of the steroid cream, Betnovate.
I noticed that the discharge production increased a lot with the new medication. The discharge comes out of my penis and a few drops on my shorts/underwear.
It has been two days since I am using the new medication. I see a very thin white layer coming only on a small part of the patch (not everywhere), which if pulled, causes pain and little bleeding and there is the same red patch under the white layer. What is it? Is it the discharge which got stuck? No other change in redness, size of patch, nothing!
PS: Applying miconazole nitrate cream causes more burning sensation than fusidic acid

ALSO I AM NOT USING SOAP FOR A MONTH AS IT CAUSES SEVERE BURNING (ALTHOUGH IT FEELS BETTER ONCE THE SOAP IS WASHED AWAY). I WAS USING EMODERM CREAM (EMOLLIENT) BUT SINCE THE DERMATOLOGIST GAVE NEW MEDS I AM USING ONLY WATER, HE DIDN'T ASK ME TO DO THAT THO.

Alright, screw this! I didn't even get a reply. Anyway, just an UPDATE: It was due to a bacteria called Enterococcus SPP. Continued the creams the doctor gave. He gave more cefixime and after having cefixime for 4 days, an anti fungal, Itraconazole capsule to take once a day for some reason. But I still took Levofloxacin 500mg (two tablets a day, 12 hour interval, like regular antibiotics) before anti fungal, I started taking Levofloxacin with cefixime and it's showing results. Now stopped cefixime and started Itraconazole. But continuing Levofloxacin. Maybe I'll have it for a total of 7-8 days, heavy dose but the problem should go. He asked to meet 2 weeks later.

Sorry you didn't get a reply. I didn't see your post, and I suspect others may have taken one look and thought it was best left to the doctors, as that was a very bad case of balanitis.
Was it your idea to use Soframycin, Betnovate and Candid though? I don't know if you can get those over the counter where you are (New Zealand?), but you couldn't get all of those in the UK without seeing a doctor. I'd just have gone with an antifungal though, and it's not impossible that the Soframycin may have made things worse. If the infection was as bad as in those pics before you started taking the creams though, I'd have told you to see a doctor asap.
I'm pasting in my standard advice for balanitis, but yours wasn't a standard case:

If it's balanitis, then these links may help:

Washing (with water, no soap) daily, and taking a leak and washing after masturbation or sex will probably help, and you could also try Canesten cream or Daktarin cream. Loose fitting cotton underwear may help, and some sites recommend washing underwear with non-biological washing powder or liquid.

Hey. Its okay now. Very light pinkish skin which I think is normal, even the doctor said its normal to have little bit pink. I'm in India LOL we can get 80% of the things over the counter. Yes it was my decision to apply those three :P but the infection wasn't that bad when I started the 3 creams and it even started to get better! But it suddenly started coming back and became like this. Then I went to the doc and its okay now. He asked me to continue fusidic acid cream and miconazole nitrate gel/ointment, applying them every alternate days. I will try Canesten and Daktarin if there's any problem, thanks.

Hello Kiwi, do you still have the problem? I had the same problem as you, but to a lesser degree. In my case, it has lasted a little over 25 years, from 1989 to 2015, and they also detected Enterococcus SPP. Then the doctors tried all the known remedies, such as antibiotics, antifungals, anti-inflammatories, corticosteroids and tracolimus monohydrate, in the form of creams ... the results were insufficient, at the same time, the problem recurs recurrently....ln 2009 a doctor suggested that I have a circumcision, which I refused, and today I can rejoice to be uncut and greatly that I did not have surgery... Tired of trying without ending the problem, I began to study and research for myself, since the doctors could not find a definitive remedy. So in the end of nov 2015, I went to the pharmacy asking to buy a gel with sulfur, which they no longer sold, but yes, they had a Grissi sulfur soap that works super.... l have been able to solve the problem 99.9% but it takes time, you shouldn't either abuse of its time of use because it burns your skin, it does not hurt and the first days of use I had a great relief ... . It is also good to take full body baths, in spas with sulphurous hot springs...From nov 2015 l not need to make doctor's visit and not buy anymore medication for this problem.... I'd like to hear from you ..
