i am 31 years old female. hi i have been struggling with high heart rate and palpitations which comes out of the blue when i get up from bed in the morning. my heart rate goes up...doing between 125-146 bpm. gets lower when i sit down and increases with standing and little walk . as the day progresses i can walk 2-3 kms without any issues but do get palpitations while sitting/watching tv/working on computer.

?sometimes when i am out with friends or at work i get palipitations for no reason pushing my heart rate upto 156bpm with little dizziness and goes away by the time i call ambulance..

this issue has completely taken over my life...

i don't know if it is related or not i do chest pains mostly all day which gets worse when i hold my breathe in, twist, stretch.

have told my GP he keeps putting thing on to panic disorder...

?yesterday called ambulance, they picked my heart rate as 146bpm n by the time they did ecg it came down to 125bpm with sinus tachycardia on ecg.

?i have seen 3 cardiologists - 2 in december 2016 and 1 in feb 2017, had 3 stress tests, echos and numerous ecgs with NORMAL results...

3 holtors so far picking up sinus tachycardia n occasional sinus arrythimia. but i have had no issues while wearing monitor

?started with panic attacks which got worse n worse with time ending up having palpitations..

?sometimes palpitations makes me have a bowel movements .. don't know if its related..

?my thyriod, blood works, lipids are NORMAL with no issue. no electrolyte abnormalities.. B12 is high

Hi sorry to hear about your issues. make sure you are getting enough magnesium very important. you can buy magnesium citrate very absorbed well the oxide version not so good. mag plays vital role in heart regularity. due to agriculture very little of this mineral in soil. read up on that. another mineral very important most of us are 50% deficient is pottasium. mortan salt alternative you can buy on grocery 1/4 tsp has close to 700mg of pottasium! you need 4700 mg a day. try to get it from foods but uou have to eat alot. try the salt alternative sprinkle it on food twice a day or drink it with water. note too much and or too little pottasium can cause heart irregular best etc. just keep ur levels 3500mg to 4700 mg daily. also lie down during day if HR goes up by 20 beats its normal. if happens at night may be

hormones, stress, blood pooling in legs (pots at night?)my HR goes 40 beats higher when i stand up from sleeping but within a min or 2 goes back down but if i go to bed goes back to normal fast. i think its blood pooling in my legs arteries too relaxed while sleeping dont contract fast enough so heart had to beat fast when standing to keep u from fainting. they say compression socks. funny this does not happen during day as maybe we more awake muscle in leg arteries more awake?

I hope this thread is still active......

I have exactly the same issues, heart rate rise on getting up in the morning (up to 156 bpm), bowel movements soon after, random heart rate rises during the day with sweats and palpitations. Highest heart rate recently was 250. I do have gastric issues, burping, heartburn etc which is helped greatly by Peppermint Oil. I suspect I have IBS. I have had every test possible in hospital recently. Nothing showed up, except a high heart rate..... Apart from food additives and WiFi, has anybody got better from these heart problems? Is it anxiety and stress that is causing them?

This site doesn't seem to like links so can I suggest you google, "The vagus nerve, indigestion, the heart' and you will get lots of hits.

I am not a doctor so you must take proper medical advice but it can be observed that many on this forum suffering from heart rate and ectopic heartbeat problems cite stress as being a factor.

It is also very noticeable as to how hard it is to pin down, as attacks come out of the blue, and as soon as medical help is achieved the problem has disappeared. Without being too flippant it seems a bit like when you have raging tooth ache and as soon as you get in the dentists chair it disappears! So again this suggests over anxiety which is relieved when you are seeing a medical professional

So if stress is a major trigger-and its a big "IF' then yoga, meditation, deep breathing exercises might help as is being aware of the vague nerve and the functions it performs.

Have you changed your diet recently? Put on weight? Had hormonal changes-new baby etc? Had more stress than usual? Moved house to a different type of environment?

Those posting here experience this disorder and often they have no idea what causes it. Your doctor is happy that there are no deeper heart concerns?

Of those few factors that seem to be constants anxiety is way ahead. Caffeine, not drinking enough water, indigestion problems, change in personal circumstances, pollution are also recurring factors

Look up the vagus nerve as regards indigestion and bowel movements Burping often helps.

As regards panic disorder then over anxiety would seem to be closely related.

Are you doing anything to identify what causes these episodes in the first place and have you specifically been doing anything to reduce your anxiety and stress levels?

i had the same experience several weeks ago after waking up, strangely enough it was the day after my second covid shot. I was petrified and panicked which made it even worse. I had to call my son as he was sleeping and he called the paramedics and they took me to the ER with a heart rate of 189 , they said I was in atrial fibrillation and as soon as we arrived they made me chew three aspirins 325mg it was frightening. I was in the cardiac ward for three long days and I was miserable. I am now on metoprolol 100mg twice daily and eliquis blood thinners. I am convinced my life has changed overnight since I took this jab that nearly killed me.
