    Are you taking any medication?

If medication is causing reflux or giving you IBS symptoms, your symptoms won't stop after 2 weeks of stopping them. Have you tried taking anything like Nexium and an antispasmodic? Ask your doctor about Alverine. Try these and see if they help your symptoms. Try a low acid diet as well and see if it helps with the burning.

With IBS, you don't always have diarrhoea and constipation. Some people will either have only diarrhoea or only constipation. Some will have both. I started with constipation but then I also had loose stools and diarrhoea. IBS is often focused on the left but typically moves about. Everyone's IBS is different. Try not to keep finding reasons to push away every reassurance you get. You have had negative tests multiple times, multiple reassurances from your doctors and multiple reassurance on this forum. Are these not reasons enough to accept these explanations? Is it not better to accept positive explanations rather than to continue to torture yourself with the worst case scenario?

I had terrible worries about my pancreas because it could not be seen on ultrasound and my pain seemed to move to the middle of my abdomen where I thought the pancreas was located. Instead of continuing to worry and draw my own conclusions, I spoke to my doctor about my concerns and he told me that at my age, it was highly unlikely that my pancreas was the problem. I chose to accept this explanation and I felt reassured. Eventually, I was diagnosed with IBS. I chose to ignore my lingering doubts about my diagnosis and I accepted my IBS. As a result, my health anxiety disappeared and my IBS got better. This can happen for you too. However, you will have to take the brave step of accepting all the reassurances you are being given to get to that stage.

If you decide you cannot accept any positive explanation from anyone, your health anxiety will continue to get worse and so will your symptoms. Worry makes gut problems worse. You will continue to have test after test, if your doctor decides to refer you, and when they come back negative, you won't believe it, and so the vicious cycle will continue for you. This is the reality you are facing but it is up to you what to do.

I think your anxiety has reached such a level, that you would benefit from therapy to get your anxiety under control. Your anxiety needs to be tackled first before you can begin to get better. I am only trying to make suggestions here as many others have tried to do, please try and be kind to yourself and take them on board.

Quick survey who here thinks ct scan done 8 months ago can be wrong or too quick and do you think if one dr tell me he is sure 100% and another one said symptoms are not too much pancreatic cancer think can be wrong?

had on month a go...have the same as you...ct was clear..i had pelvis contrast included....all clear... when i ask my doc am i going to die? he said heck no...60 years more at least...

get the google out of your daily routine and stop looking... if you input only headache high fever and weakness... acording to google you have final stage of cancer and only few months to live... yet you have only basic flu....

      best of luck

CTs are highly accurate and would not be used if they were not. If your doctor is 100% confident you don't have something serious, you should accept this and trust your doctor who is the expert. You cannot get any more certain than 100%!

Try to get the negative scenarios out of your head and start thinking of the positives: you have had highly accurate scans, you have had multiple negative results, multiple reassurances from your doctor and people on this site. Everyone thus far has told you there is no reason to be so alarmed. When my doctor reassured me nothing was seriously wrong when I was worrying about my pancreas, I was so relieved! I took this as a positive sign, My doctor was 100% confident in his reasoning which was more than enough for me to trust my doctor.

My advice to you remains unchanged: Accept all the reassurances you have had from your doctor and everyone on this site who has tried to help you, accept your negative test results and see your doctor about getting some therapy for your severe health anxiety. No one thus far has been able to help you with this, so you will need to see your doctor. Also, ask your doctor if he is able to diagnose you based on your symptoms and the scans you have had done. Do not ask for any more tests unless your doctor suggests any more. If you are diagnosed, accept that diagnosis and start to live your life normally.

I mean if your doctor eventually diagnoses you with a particular condition, you should accept what your doctor tells you. Has your doctor suggested what could be wrong with you?

ct scan would show abnormalities in your pancreas.... i know as i have 2 years the same as you

.burning and nowadays pain...flank pain...sometimes dull sometimes sharp...

went through all...and all clear.. doc said its in my head...and i can tell you anxiety doesnt help.... and ct scan is the tool to see if you have issue with pancreas or liver or any internal organs....

    hang on there my friend

So like me you had stomach burning plus pain and flank and back all like burning?

What scaring me is my stool they are light brown and really chunky not big normal shape and like this for 4 months.

    • Posted

yes sir...exactly as you said..burning 24/7 and pain...not unbearable but its there...

nothing helps for my burning...no gaviscon...no antiacids....

streess and anxiety will only aggravate the situation.

i had ct scan..ultrasound, colonoscopy and 2 endoscopies....

all they came up is light fatty liver as i was overweight and didnt do much exercise.... but all organs clear and test clear...

Anxiety will change your stools. I mean what is a normal stool anyway? Most people don't have number 4 on the Bristol stool scale you know! You are driving people mad here, no matter what anyone tells you, you are going to disagree and think what you want to think. If you want to believe that you have pancreatic cancer, even though science has proved you haven't, no one on this board can tell you otherwise.

I was wondering how you're doing now Christophe. I had the same symptoms as you and hoping you're ok. I went for a private mri (with mrcp) yesterday and it was all clear except for gallstones. Is a ct better than mri to see the pancreas?
