Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation side effects of Bisoprorol

Posted , 10 users are following.

I was diagnosed with PAF 2 months ago but am having dreadful side effects from medication Bisoprolol, since starting them I have gone from a very active 68 year old to being zombie like GP always has stock answer the benefits outway the risks and the side effects. I think the worst thing has been the awful feeling in my throat and a persistent dry cough

Hi Linda,  if anyone suggest amiodarone do not take any if you have a reaction to the bisoprorol, amiodarone may be worse,  the Doctor told me after I had a really bad reaction to it it is what they call a black pill.   Look it up and it will give you all the info.

      Thanks Moira,

I do despair why do they give you these things knowing what they can do, I will add them to my list of no no's.

      Linda.

Really don't know why he gave me it but I do know I felt like I was dying and the brain went into neutral really had trouble thinking and talking plus skin peeled off the fingers and palms of my hands and feet couldn't even touch a hardboiled egg to get the shell off.  It took over a year to get it out of my system.  Now I check everything I am prescribed before I take it,  I won't risk the same thing happening again.

Hi Linda. How are you doing now? I'm still if the bisoprolol (hurrah). In the last couple of weeks my chest area is feeling uncomfortable, only happens at night when I in from work and trying to relax. Whenever I stand up and do something I'm nit aware of it any more. Going to speak to my doc about it.

    i hope you're doing okay?

      Hi Christine,

I am doing OK really only had one AF episode in the last 8 weeks, mine seems to be triggered by infection I have to use an intermittent catheter 4 times daily so inevitably I tend to get a lot of UTI's

The cardiologist I saw was really good explained the pro's and con's of an ablation and explained why he only does one as a last resort, taking the bisoporol at night had helped me and as Robyn said some monthes ago you feel less stressed as time goes by.

I was advised also to sleep on my back with my pillows raised.

      Linda
