Paxil side effects

Posted , 5 users are following.

I have been taking Paxil since August 11 and when my Dr raised it to 15mg from 10mg i started having severe symptoms of being tired feeling like i am going to pass out, headache, and feeling flu like symptoms.

I went back down to 10mg yesterday and i am still feeling sick flu like symptoms all day today now i am going to cut it back down to 5mg to see if this will stop how i am feeling.

These psych meds might be throwing my thyroid off and making me feel like i have the flu, its also giving me leg cramps and a headache too

Has any body ever had these symptoms while on Paxil please let me know thank you

I was on paxil for over 4 years. Throughout I had constant side effects. I was always on either 20mg/30mg. Id have tremors(always jerks in my hands n odd times legs) also very vivid nightmares id wake up having to check my phone to see if any of the stuff in my dream actually happened thats how vivid they were. Im pregnant so ive come off them about 3mths ago. They tapered me off and my god when I got to 10mg I was in an awful state I was hallucinating abit and so irritable and irrational.

This type of SSRI is very very strong and can affect your body quite dramatically. It helped me at first but then my depression came back hence the 20-30 changes and I just felt the side affects on top were not worth it.

If they keep up id really go back and see what other options are on offer cos its not something that should be "normalised"

Thank you Sarah i could not take the side effects i was just so tired, couldn't go to work on Friday or Saturday because of how i felt then having diarrhea really badly. My hands going numb and my legs really hurting. I felt so crummy this weekend my medical Dr told me to lower it back down to 5mg which i did and then to stop it.

i also felt like i had the flu and not myself.

I am also on Ativan and Trazedone and they do not bother me, i also take Losartan potassium, metoprolol, and amlodipine for blood pressure, i also take levothyroxine for low thyroid and vitamin d3 i also take metformin for diabetes and then having the paxil at 15 mg on Wednesday, Thursday i started feel sick to my stomach, with lots of diarrhea had trouble sleeping Thursday night and just had all these flu like symptoms my. my legs still are cramping really badly i just can not take this paxil

I have been hearing really bad things about Paxil. Maybe you should think about switching to something else?

Im off it nowsmile i wanted to come off it but knew Id have to take a week or more off work so was never the 'right time'. But i got pregnant unexpectedly so at 4months i went off it and it was the best thing Ive ever done. Its been nearly 3 months off it now. I suffer from depression quite bad also and paxil didnt get rid of my suicidal thoughts or anythin im not really sure what it did. Im just trying to accept that this is what i have and trying to find ways to cope. Once I have the baby theyll see me and determine what i should do as I wont know how I really am till my hormones go back to normal after the baby.

It's fine Sarah. Just take care of yourself. Nobody else can beat this but you.

I am. I am on lexapro and xanex. And the lexepro just started working this past week so I am feeling much better. Still not 100% but I am working on it. I sleep a lot more. Guess my body needs it. But I can function and think. I am on temp disability, so I am getting a little bored and my motivation is still low. But physically I feel much better.
