Penis foreskin cracks during sex, peeling skin, dots and spots [documented]

Hi,

First of all thank you for your time and sorry for the long post,

I'm a healthy 29y old male and in the past 8 months I've been having some problems when having sex. Around February I've noticed some cracks on my foreskin image, at the time i didn't thought much of it, and it eventually healed up, after that, every time i had my foreskin would always crack in the same spots with the same pattern, and it started to appear even more cracks imageimage, when they happen during sex, i can clearly feel them and it stings a little, but after the act, i would clean it with lukewarm water and i would only feel an occasional sting or 2, and, along with the cracks, i also feel the area where the cracks are very very raw and sensitive to the touch, the rest of the penis is fine. In the healing process, after 1 or 2 days, my skin would feel very dry, accompanied by some peeling skin where the cracks where imageimageimage, that area of the skin, eventually they would heal up, but the skin in that area looks a bit darker than the rest image, the dryness i would fight it with some moisturizer.

In all this months I've tried some approaches to tackle this without success, i used a cleaning solution with neutral PH and no fragrances, anti candida fungal ointment, topical steroid cream, fusidic acid and also elidel, already went to 2 different dermatologists, and the problem still persists, with a down side, that now, it seems to be getting worse as some dots started to appear on the glad imageimageimageimageimage and also on the foreskin area imageimage. Along with all of the this, the redder area of the skin sometimes when is dryer it also looks shinier. I'm posting here in hope of some advice of someone who has gone through the same thing. Before all of this, i had a normal sex life with no problems whatsoever.

Best regards, Thank you,

Hi guys. 2nd attempt at posting my reply, perhaps the moderator didn’t like the images I posted, was just trying to share my story and help in anyway.

So this started to happen to me approximately 10 months ago. I noticed that that I was getting more build up down there with smeg and being someone that’s a clean freak I scrubbed it away morning and night with soap. Never had that before. Then the skin started splitting. I thought it was thrush, but cream didn’t help me. After months and months of trying various things I ended up seeing a urologist that diagnosed it as lichen scleroses and prescribed me with a steroid called Dermovate Ointment (clobetasol propionate). I admit this clears it up instantly, but I’ve been concerned using the steroid due to the fact it can thin the skin which is only going to result in the area being more susceptible to splitting. He told me to wean myself off of the medication which I have done. I now only use it if it flares up once, then move on to vaseline .

With all the experimenting I’ve done and the reading through this thread I have some take always for you guys. I also want to say I’m very great full for this thread because it’s really been getting me down and I appreciate all the information people have shared.

Personally I have noticed that nowadays when I try and pull my foreskin back it’s a bit dryer underneath, so perhaps this is pulling on the skin more and splitting. I agree with the post that says keep the area lubed up! As uncircumcised guys we have had the luxury of w*****g whenever we like and I think those days are gone. I don’t engage in sex with or without my partner now without getting him lubed up and it’s definitely helped. Day to day using vaseline really helps.

I’ve stopped washing with all soaps. I only use water, and it’s had a big impact on the area. I can go much longer between flare ups.

I have also found that coconut oil keeps things moisturised down there and has helped with flare ups healing.

My urologist has said if it doesn’t get better I need to be circumcised, that is something I’m not doing at all. Especially as both circumcised and non-circumcised guys are having this problem. Even those that went down this route have seen the issue return.

I’m leaning towards this being some kind of infection though because Ive never been a guy that has had any type of build up down there. Before this started he was always clean and ready to go, now by the end of the day / morning I have whiteness there or it’s almost like a thin layer of skin comes away.

The journey continues….wish you boys the best with this. I hope my comments help some of you.

I have been going through this the last three months and it won’t stop. Every time I have sex, this exact area splits open with the same kind of lesions you have. It’s uncomfortable, but not painful. The problem is the first time it happened, I developed a near deadly cellulitis infection that traveled through my body and I had to spend a month in the hospital. Then I recovered and it went away for two months and it happened again. It got infected, and I had to go back to the hospital for a week for IV antibiotics. That was just two weeks ago, it healed, and then after having sex last night, the exact same part of my penis has split open again. Same wound and everything. I honestly just don’t even know what to do anymore. It’s like weak skin in exactly the same spot.

What do we do to make this stop? Lubrication during sex, or lack thereof is not the case. In fact, I have had well lubricated sex in all cases

i started dealing with this in the last couple years went to see a urologist and recommended to get circumcision but had 2nd thoughts on that until now almost everytime after i have sex i get cuts on the foreskin and it takes really long to heal during the healing there sometimes is itchiness and some times burning 🔥 from the cracks and then also notice foreskin gets tight when it heals wich causes it to crack again when an erection happens please keep any updates or recommendations up to date I'm really not trying to get circumcision just for that and then have the issue again thanks what I've been doin to keep it care of its I put ointment/ moisturizer lotion no scent

I got rid of the microcuts by stopping using soap/shower gel on my genitals.i started using an "ultra nourishing/anti irritation oil" instead (basically an oil based cleansing product).

I also used a cream containing ceramide which repaired the skin barrier.

No circumcision needed. Problem comes back from time to time when I use soap for a few days if I dont have the oil cleanser.

Some of my replies got deleted by moderation (I assume it is because some brands were mentioned - even though I didnt provide referral links to buy anything!-).

      Hope it helps

I tried lots of products and saw many doctors. The only thing that worked : stop using soap on the genitals and replace with ultra nourishing oil instead.

I have same issue but mi e started after anal sex. Did anyone start getting the same symptoms after anal sex?

I have fallen into the same issue. Sense if comes so randomly and is a skin condition that follows a persistent dry and peeling factor, I suggest treatments focusing towards Psoriasis. So treatment options like Topical corticosteroids Vitamin D3 analogues, tacrolimus (Protopic), pimecrolimus (Elidel) are all great attempts to further lower a breakout. I wonder if its psoriasis is forming because of an infection or allergies? Maybe get tested for STD's/STI's and see if your body is reacting incorrectly to the illness. Maybe see if you are using a new fabric softner or some sort of soap that could be causing an allergic reaction. The cause of the tearing is coming from the penis shafts skin becoming weaker due to the body failing to react appropriately to the issue. Eczema falls into this spectrum as well. Best of luck as I myself can relate to the frustration this causes.

I also faced this issue. I tried application of virgin coconut oil to the glans and foreskin daily in the morning and evening. My problem solved.

i didn't got the red spots though.
