Perimenopause and loss of apetite

Hi Lovely ladies

i am 3 yrs in peri, past months my periods have become lighter, this month no period, I also feel nausea, loss of appetite  at Times and other times I eat a lot, I feel also depressed at times, the symptoms comes and goes, even my blood pressure fluctuates, high, low, normal...my body is doing all sorts, lost my libido, my boyfriend also walked out 2 months ago, as I was always tired and didn't want to make love and it ends in big argument.

My body has changed so much, I get all sorts of symptoms,  and some days I'm also happy and normal, and have no symptoms.

Some days I also feel like my life is over, depressed and sadness. I have no drive to do much apart from daily routine,

my boyfriend is not supportive so he left and I don't even miss him as I am much happier in my little world of Me, the new person and body  I'm trying to understand. It's very stressful this changes as I was always a happy and bubbly woman.

Hoping all this will pass soon.

Glad to find this discussion. I'm turning 50, dealing with peri for about 7 years now. I go through times of not wanting to eat much, then others like now when I'm hungry all the time. Have had all kinds of lab work, blood and urine tests of all kinds, A1C, hormones, they always come back normal. Trying to eat more protein and cut back on carbs. The hunger right now is accompanied by adrenaline surges and air hunger, so of course I panic, too. Went through this back at the beginning of peri and hoped not to see it again. Peri is awful.

Im so happy i found this site, i think ive been in peri for the past year, periods all over the place, at one point last year i had a period that lasted 5 weeks non stop heavy, went for ultrasound which found a small cyst on left ovary, but during the year my periods have been pretty irregular and relatively light, & the cyst has gone .

several weeks ago i retired , & since that day ive been feeling nauseous with no appetite, and i think im suffering from anxiety, i wake up early in the morning and start to worry and stress myself out, i get cramps, dry mouth & feel queasy all morning, its only in the afternnon i maybe feel like eating, i know im losing weight due to not eating properly, im not my usual self, if this is all hormone related then how long will this last! my doc seems to think it could be gastro related and prescribed me with gastro tablets, but they dont seem to help, from reading everyone elses posts i can relate to all of them which gives me some relief that its nothing to serious, i just wish the nausea feeling would go, does anyone have any good remedies!

I just read this post and finally I read that someone else feels this way too. I'm not going crazy. I feel like it. I don't feel like myself. I'm 50 and haven't had a period for 7 months. I'm a mess emotionally. Thank you for posting this.

    Hello Kadija,

Aware this old thread but hope your still around for advise. I have no appetite, nausea, dry mouth, incredibly fatigued - tired, headaches, occasional hot flashes, night sweats, etc.. Fighting to keep weight on via force feeding myself. Also forcing beverages down to keep from getting dehydrated. VERY scary.

How are you doing present day? Have your symptoms gotten any better?

I've had my blood, urine, fecal checked --- all have come out normal. I'll be undergoing upper and lower endoscopies soon in hopes of finding out why appetite gone and nauseous.

Came upon this thread while googling my symptoms. (Peri)menopause seems to fit. In early 50's (appears to be late menopause as still in Peri) no period since mid-December. have had periods off/on during course of last 3 years --- during which hospitalized twice for extreme nausea, dry heaving and dehydration. Several other times no hospitilization very nauseous with dry heaves. Couldn't figure out why as both days had started off normal. Drs chalked up to migraine and or stomach bug. Nausea a constant now. After reading through everybody's stories, hormone fluctuation seems to fit.

I'd greatly appreciate hearing from you if/when convenient for an update.

I'd also love to hear from anybody else going through the same.

    Thank you,

    Laura

i am dealing with all of the same symptoms. I absolutely hate feeling this way. The anxiety, the dry mouth, the mood swings. I plan on seeing my doctor to see if they can suggest something to help balance me out.
