Please help ladies

Ive been diagnosed aneamic due to heavy perimenopause periods.

Been on ferrous gluconate one a day but still feeling very bad. I also started another period yesterday so im probably going to lose the little iron ive stored. My anxiety is kicking in telling me something drastic is wrong with me.. I cant even go up the stairs without getting breathless. How long does it take for iron to make me feel better. I thought I should be by now. Im getting myself in such a state because my mind is telling me aneamia cant make you feel that bad?

Any ideas ladies x

    I know how your feeling.

I started with it, earlier this year, I was on 9, had to take ferrous sulphate 3 times a day until my levels were right, took about three month.  Then I had to continue for another three month straight away.  I actually slipped up and only took it for two extra month.

Think mines down to peri-menopause too as my periods can be heavy I'm nearly 54yrs.

I cut my tea right back and drank orange juice but I missed my tea.

    Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks so much for your reply. Ive been in perimenopause eight years and im in the middle of a very heavy period atm. Ive been to work as a carer this morning and Iim exhausted!!!

I know my peri anxiety is probably making it worse.

Did u get short if breath. My doctor told me its common with aneamia?

Im on ferrous sulphate three times a day. Only started these ones this morning. Praying I get some more energy soon sad

Its seriously giving me anxiety not being able to keep going through the day x

Good morning Michelle, the Shortness of breath is coming because  there is little oxygen in your blood cells to carry the energy to your body and so you have shortness of breath. This is where iron helps. It builds your blood cells up so that you can have more strength and oxygen to breathe

it's as if your blood is not strong enough And not enough red blood cells  to carry oxygen to your brain and your body.

for the anxiety, I would like to recommend herbal Tea and just relaxing a little bit or close your eyes and focus on your breathing  while  trying to tune out any thoughts.

Oh I'm definitely with you there, last year in October I was nauseous for a month and could not do my housework. And then I had stomach and kidney problems in January and then I again I couldn't get my housework done I could not get through one day. I know the feeling.   I put myself on flax to balance hormones got relief immediately and now I add it to my cereal and it really does help relax me.

It really seems as though you get used to one symptom then you get another one. I suppose its got to end sometime biggrin

Oh yes, out of breath, dizziness, couldn't concentrate, head felt it was surrounded by cotton wool, people talking but I was inside my head, really weird.  Felt very weak too, I found it all really hard because I do a manual job too.

Give it time and it will get better.

    Hi ladies

I know its early but have been having heart racing and anxiety all night and woke uo this morning with what seems to be a panic attack. I checked my pulse and blood pressure but they are all good even though my heart feels like its beating too fast. Is this normal for perimenopause or am I going crazy!!!!! I feel tearful and scared and dont want to go to work this morning. I had a bad bout of these episodes back in November and was put on mirtazapine AD. Iytseemed to take the edge off. Honestly I feel so hopeless today. When will it all end sad(
