Perimenopause - please describe your more unusual symproms

Posted , 8 users are following.

Hi there.... Now into year 6 of this perimenopause hell. Find myself constantly googling symptoms and have just about exhausted my doctors I think.

So what I want to know is this... does anybody feel worse in the morning? Does anybody get:

Chest twinges/pain? ( I've had my heart checked out).

Periods of shortness of breath (had lungs checked).

Feelings that you have an incurable undiscovered disease?

Crying over things that didn't ever bother you before?

Constant breast pain (yep had those checked)

Pelvic pain almost constantly ( had CT scan- all normal)

Periods either every 2 weeks or nearing 5 weeks

Would love to hear about your symptoms. Sometimes think Im the only one going through this crazy time.

Much love.

    Hi Sarah

You are not alone, I've had most of those symptons too.

The morning time is my worse part of the day. I'm grateful for another day yet I'm dreadfully knows what's awaits me. I had horrible anxiety waking up until I got my IUD removed. My anxiety has decreased a whole lot. Now it seem more of nervousness inside which may be coming from the stomach (gastriitis) . Been trying to heal my stomach and heal my mind also. I read an article that there is a body/mind connection.

The most irritating symptons now are the bloating stomach and lightheadness/dizziness, and boobs feel like a basketball. Though they don't look as big but they feel so huge and heavy.

The stomach is so uncomfortable, it feels so big and it's gets frustrating trying to sleep because of the bloating and heavy feeling. This sympton occurred a few weeks ago. I'm dealing with two triggers at the same time, gastritis and peri. I know bloating is sympton of the gastritis also and peri.

    Ugggggh!

Also got another period in two weeks this month.

I am seeing a BHRT dr. today at 2 pm. I hope to hear something positive and hope this helps.

Yes, I'm worse in the mornings. I wasn't so bad in peri, but have been in menopause for about 2 years. My symptoms include:

Besides the night sweats, hot flashes and palpitations, I have the following:

Stomach problems, nausea, especially in the mornings, but can happen anytime of the day. Feeling full and belching a lot, Internal tummy tremors.

Tingling and numbness in hands, arms and feet. Jerking and twitching muscles. My lower legs feel like they have compression socks on. My new addition the last few days.... legs and arms feel hard to make move. I'm very worried I'm developing MS, so my anxiety is sky high.

Have had every blood test done, all are normal. Had upper GI scoped, I do have acid reflux. Have had a Heart stress test and EKG and that was all good.

I've tried HRT and then switched to Bio-HRT, the pellet insertion kind, I'm now switching to a patch form because on the pellets you have to wait until you have symptoms and hormones levels are low before they'll replace them. It's way too much highs and lows. My 56 and I know I must be driving all the people I love crazy with worry too.

Wishing you all the best with this horrible journey we're on! And pray that this hormone hell will settle itself down soon for all!

Thank you for sharing your story. Always good to know we aren't alone. Unfortunately all my doctors want to do is put me on anti depressants. I dont want to take them so am just struggling on. Im 46 this year and it all started when I turned 40. Makes me wonder how much longer this goes on for. X

I tried the antidepressant route a few years back when I hadn't connected all my symptoms with being perimenopausal. It didn't help for long. I'm happier on HRT and I guess can wait out the remaining symptoms. Get a referral to a gyny consultant and take it from there. Most consultants will be open to HRT if you present with the symptoms you describe. Bioidentical hormones are a much better option than antidepressants!

I can handle the moodiness hot sweats  some anxiety but past 2 months feel like I’m literally sick !

    Tired ALL the time

    depression

    Shaking hands in the morning

Unable to fully get going until 2pm

    Mornings are the worst

    Dizziness

And just complete lack of HAPPINESS due to all these symptoms

Hot flashes moodiness a ‘ little ‘ anxiety is NOTHING compared to what I’ve been going through and after reading many posts there are others going through the same thing!

Men have Viagra we need a PILL one pill that would take all these symptoms away ! Why oh why do we have to suffer like this ... like we’re living in the bloody Bronze Age !
