I am just 8 weeks and the physio was set up for me to see them 6 weeks which was one day after my appt with the consultant I have had 2 sessions and the option of booking in if i need it this option lasts a month before they discharge me..i believe I have benefited from seeing them because we are all individuals and they can assess and advice what's best for you, I would try arrange it if possible.

Hi Susan, how exciting to be discharged from the Physio. It's so interesting to read the different Physio experiences. Getting up and down off the floor I'm so looking forward to that ๐Ÿ˜Š. I had my first Physio session 3 weeks post op last Monday. She was really harsh said I still walked little old ladyish and I should be walking around the house without a stick. I've limped for 17 months and two weeks pre op I could barely walk. My consultant said my old hip was a nasty mangled mess surrounded by nasty fluid. I think that's unrealistic I'm doing all the exercises she has shown me but last night I went to bed in agony and tears. I'm back on my stick again today. I wondered how many others have had such an experience. I know I'm classed as young to have a hip replacement as I'm early 50's but I feel totally deflated that I'm not recovering quicker.ย

Oh no please don't feel defeated I was very similar to u I'm 58 and used one crutch around the house at 3 weeks it all came together for me around the 6 week mark, I still have a limp but practising walking the tightrope and balancing exercise is helping, I get very tired still and have to take regular rests listen to ur body it will help u along the way.
