Hello

i have struggled with a lot of menopause issues, but does anyone have any advice for menopause peripheral neuropathy

i have had countless blood tests , scans & mri and all clear for any other medical issues , which is great . I have tried low dose hrt patches but they made me feel quite faint & gel but did not help!

Its hard not to overthink things but all tests are fine so must be these lovely hormones

Hello, thank you for response. No I have not tried magnesium , I will definitely try - drives me mad! Doctor has said possible MS but MRI all clear, I spoke to Gp again this week, He said I have been on about pins and needles for last 3 years! Yes I know, lol, I get fed up asking them to help.

Did magnesium help you? if so what do you use ?

      xx

I do have the epsom bath salts , will try magnesium , got to be worth it.

Doctor has given me anti depressant, nortriptene, nothing has helped, he then said about ms, which was worrying but thankfully mri was all clear

      Thankyou xx

I am post menopause by 2.5 years and I have discovered through tons of research and trial and error of my own, that a lot of times the pins and needles can be a low B12 issue. The thing with b vitamins is that if your low, you can suffer from pins and needles, if you have too much you can suffer from pins and needles! They can also be tough on your kidneys if you have too much as well.

l should add that I use a spray of B12 with Methyl that I get from my naturopath. I use one spray under my tongue a few times a week. It helps with anxiety too. As far as magnesium, even the glycinate gave me an upset stomach so I switched to the spray of that as well. I use 1/2 spray on one of my ankles (and rub it in) as needed ( maybe a few times a month). Only take magnesium at night though as it helps with sleep.

Hi, sorry I dont have any advice as to how to deal with it but you're not alone with this. I've been getting pin prick sensations, full on pins and needles, numbness, burning, all sorts of weird things for about 3 years now. My doctor hasnt even sent me for any tests, I've given up complaining to them now! At least you've had the reassurance its not something awful. It gives me a lot of anxiety. I have seen other people say its a symptom of declining oestrogen levels though. Wish the GPs were more clued up about all these weird peri symptoms!

    Hello

    Thankyou for reply

It is good to know i am not alone

I have struggled alot with anxiety, and hearing others have had similar feelings helps, who knew hormones can effect so many thing 😦

Yes, apparently oestrogen affects every cell in your body! The anxiety I get from all these awful symptoms might be the worst part of it. But each day is a step closer to getting to the other side of peri, thats what I tell myself 🙂

I got that a lot too and I realized that mine was from anxiety. It stopped when I started taking anti anxiety.

Hello. Do you mind saying how you realized it was stress and if your Dr agreed with you? I've really think that it has to be anxiety because it doesn't bother me at all at times or when I'm asleep for example. I don't think my GP hears me when I try to tell her how I feel. She's not one for anxiety meds and has only given me a very low dose of Buspar that's not helping. I didn't push it last time I saw her because I was doing ok. I'll be seeing my GYN and I'm hoping to be heard then. I'm betting I'll settle down if I find out that there's nothing too serious going on with me. Glad you're doing ok now.

It's one of the physical symptoms I get when I'm anxious or in the middle of a panic attack. I get it along with chest/arms/shoulders/neck/jaw/back pain. My psych said that anxiety does that to you. Good luck with your check up! Anxiety really is the worst.
