Hi im new here , i have severe depression, Anxiety , severe asthma also chronic acid reflux pain which i am awaiting further investigations as the meds dont always work . I cannot go out on my own and i cannot stand being around people i dont know or large groups . i mostly keep myself locked away in the house , i suffer from really bad nightmares and so i dont always get much sleep an i am always fealing down n fatigued. i get stressed and worry and panic most often for no reason and cant explain why , i have had thought of suicide . i have SH a few times starting back in 1999 but i was only diagnosed in 2012, i only went to the dr that day as i was attacked by a group and had to get treated for a perforated ear drum due to being attacked. i applied for PiP and was awarded 0 points back in 2013 so i left it, but after reading comments here i have applied again on 01/09/2016 and given more information .

my kids have to help me around the house with chores my daughter often cooks as i just cannot bring myself todo it .  since sending off the form ive been through so many emotions the past few days from worried , stressed, tearfull , worthlessness .

As bad as you feel you must attend, seems that you get 2 appointments and if u don't use them your back to square one, am I correct in this? Reason I say this is because I asked for home visit when they first gave me the office one, they did change it but said I couldn't cancel or it would void my applications.

And like my home visit for Attendance Allowance recently. Two turned up. One questioned me whilst sitting at the dining table the other wandered around downstairs from room to room taking note of what we had in the house. Then he proceeded to go to the patio doors in the dining room and comment on how the garden looked making comments that it must take a lot of work to keep it like that. He also commented on my car on the drive wishing he could afford one.

And then he asked if I would show him the upstairs bathroom!! So told him that if he was desperate there is a toilet in the cloakroom by the front door, use that!

OMG that was wrong sorry but I would see someone about that no one should walk around your home with no permission Les

There wasn't a lot I could do, I was sat down at the table answering questions. It was when he asked if I would show him the bathroom that clinched it for me. I lost it with him and told him no and that if he was that desperate he could use the toilet in the cloakroom by the front door.

      Hello Everyone.

?I am new to this site.

?I am 26 years old and i am a dwarf, i use to get DLA as a child up to 16 years old age and it was stopped.. I assumed this was because they didnt think i needed it anymore and only found out a few weeks ago it is because you then change onto PIP.

Today i applied for PIP on the phone to which i was told i had to complete forms when i recieve.

?I have suffered all my life with walking and everything really and constant back pain as you all can imagine why.

?Would i be accepted for PIP? as i am nervous i will not be.

?I do not drive and looking to drive but that has its difficutilies too as i am told by a learner instructor who can cater for me that i need to be claiming mobililty allowance to even start..

      ?Please advice me.

      Thank you

      Natalie

      Hi Natalie

Everyone has a chance but I am sure you should not have a problem

When did your dla stop xxxx

Speak to your doctor as well x

Hi Natalie, I think if your dwarfism is causing you to suffer any pain or discomfort and not have a goof quality of life then get that claim in, as you were awarded DLA until you were 16 then it follows that you should be excepted for pip, I can see where your driving instructors coming from, your car if you brought one would have to have major adaptations so would cost quite a lot so you need pip enhanced mobility to get a car that's adapted for you to take lessons in or go with a company that's got cars ready adapted for smaller people so you have licence for when u get car.

      Hope that makes sense.

Also get someone to help with forms

Pain, discomfort & a poor quality of life will not be enough to qualify for PIP. You will have to demonstrate how the health problems affect your life AND fitting those difficulties to the very narrow descriptors + making sure that the descriptors you are relying on will give you enough points.

?Getting 'child' DLA is totally different than adult PIP and will guarantee nothing.

I do realise that les and actually didn't realise I had said it guaranteed her a benefit, all I said was that if her smallness caused her to lose quality of life then she should deserve it and apply for it.

If things are bad enough in your life that u feel the need to apply and you are an honest person and not looking for an easy ride then again I would advice applying.

To be born with any disability is #### some worse than others and after being placed in a situation that possibly means I want walk has just made me glad I was lucky enough to be granted mobility till now.

Blimey and you have suffered all this time

Do you have some kind of support workers

Because I think you should have been advised your next step

Are you or have you ever worked??

Just trying to build a picture why you have not had disability benefit

Like a very tall person tends to also suffer with leg and back problems xx

What has happened in the 10 years was it always bad xx

I do not have a support worker i have worked in the last 8 years from the age of 18. It got worse as i got older to be honest. I just get on with things and ignore the pain and annoyance. Everyday is hard but there is worse of people then me.

Thanks Sharon there are definitely worse things that could be said about me I will take that as a compliment, don't think I would be much good as a stand up comedian though cause I would definitely not be standing for long :-) what do they say laughter is the best medicine
