Hi all... had my first pip assesment afew days ago... to start with i applied due to limited mobility and struggles because of my back... assessor was really nice and spebt over an hour just on mobility questions it was almost like she was filling out the form for me! (as i struggled with my form and didn't go into loads of detail... but i think from the state i was in she felt for me unless I'm living in fairyland haha! anyway near the end she said i don't even want you to attempt to do the physical exam! is this a good sign do you think? it's drivingme mad not knowing and waiting! she also only said ill get backpay from when i first asked for the forms it was like she thought i was going to get an award!?

    Hi,

The HCP telling you there's no need to do the physical activities doesn't mean anything at all, other than you didn't need to do them.

When you were told that you would receive backdated money, that is very true IF it's your first time PIP claim and you're not transferring from DLA but it's only true if you're successfully awarded.

All you can do is ring DWP about a week after the assessment and request a copy of the report to be sent to you. Once you receive this, use the PIP descriptors online to see what points you may have scored. Just look for the dots next to the activities in the report. Once you've compared them then you'll know what score, if any may have been recommended. It's just a recommendation but they usually go with the report.

Once the decision's been made, if you're not happy then you'll have 1 month from that date to request the MR. Good luck.

ah that's good. yes this is what i mean she could see i was in pain and she was talking all about her mum and her life who had the same conditions as me and was saying she's asking so much because she wanted me to get the right help i need. what i ment from saying she only mentioned back payments was usually they seem to say at the end from what I've read is things like "you can appeal the decision if you think it's wrong ect" but it was like she was telling me I'll get backpayed as from what she had seen and "pointed" is that I'll get an award! but maybe I'm just hoping...

Please don't speculate anything at this point because you can't second guess the HCP. I just hope for you that she was as nice as she seemed. As advised, not needing to do those exercises doesn't mean anything.
