Pip assessment report

I got the report from the health professional after I had my assessment for pip and she has ticked all the boxes on the descriptors that I thought I should get and it looks like I have 14 points for care and 12 for mobility.  Does this mean I will be awarded pip or can the descion maker go against this and not award anything , if anybody knows can they please tell me as it is taking ages for the dwp to make a decision

Hopefully not much longer for you to wait!  It is awful isn't it!  When I received a brown envelope yesterday from the DWP my heart was racing as I opened it.  When I started to pull the letter out I saw the words 'PIP' and thought it must be my award - but no - just a letter to say they had everything they needed to assess my claim and would let me know as soon as a decision has been made!  I'm sure they do this deliberately just to make the whole process a nightmare so we are less likely to appeal or reapply in future!

I'm sure they do, the whole process is horrid from start to whenever it finishes , I get anxiety and it hasn't helped it, it's made me worse , it's always on my mind and it's the not knowing, I can't cope with it and I know it's not been as long as some people have had to wait .

Yes, I must admit, I haven't had to wait too long.  I sent back my PIP forms on 16th May and they were received on 17th May. Less than two weeks later I was given an appointment for a F2F with ATOS at my local assessment centre on 23rd June (the day we voted Brexit of all days!).  And now I have been told they have everything to make their decision.  I have heard people waiting up to 7 months just for a F2F so yes we are lucky!  I suffer from anxiety too - you should have seen me on the day of my medical - after not sleeping for days beforehand due to worry, I had bags under my eyes, blood shot eyes and I looked like I hadn't slept for days - but at least that would have went in my favour though lol!

Yeah the Hp said I looked pale and unwell it's been longer for me , it started in April and my first assessment was cancelled so had to wait 2 weeks for another appointment that was awful as you get ready for it and they had cancelled it when I got there.

I had a nice assessor luckily , a nurse who seemed sympathetic to my condtions , it's more mobility with me, so I would lose my car if I didn't qualify.

I just want it over with now the Dla was better cos it was only a form to do

My nurse was nice too and the assessment didn't seem as bad as expected after reading horror stories online.  I hope you get the enhanced mobility so you can keep you car.  I have everything crossed for you!

That's why I wanted report cos of the horror stories , like the Hp seemed nice but then they lied, lol it makes you more anxious, but I can't help looking at them.

Hi, just wondering if your eventual decision matched your report?

    Thanks

Thats great news. I have had my assesment back and looks ok but the wait for a decision is so loooong. :-)

Have you tried ringing them to ask?  I left it about a week after receiving a copy of the assessment report and they were able to tell me that a decision had been made, but the decision wasn't showing on the screen and then a couple of days later I rang again and they then told me what I had been awarded.

Hi sukes, yeah I tried that last week and all they could say is that htey have sent a sorry for the delay letter but other than that its with the decision maker..... I am transfering from dla to pip and have never been more anxious. I know there is nothing to be done and the assesment gives me the points I deserve but still worry that the decision maker with not go with the hcp nurse.

Yeah I was feeling exactly like you , but they say it would be most unusual and rare for them to go against the report.

Keep trying them it was only because I rang after 8 weeks that I found out or it would have been nearly 9.

I was on DLA MRC and HRM and then received the letter telling me that I had to apply for PIP, that's when my anxiety started big time.  Like you the assessment gave me the points, but until the final decision comes through, you just worry about it.  Eventually it came through and I was awarded enhanced for care and mobility.

The stress on my body was horrendous, I hurt so much, there wasn't an inch that didn't hurt to be honest, but thank goodness it has started to ease off a bit. Maybe give it a few more days and ring again.

will do, just another quickie, did you get the text to say a decision had been made?

No text, just a letter to say sorry for it's taking longer than expected, but they now have the necessary information and will contact me as soon as a decision had been made. That arrived on the Tuesday, I rang on the Friday to be told a decision had been made but the decision wasn't showing on the screen and then a couple of days later I rang again and they then told me what I had been awarded.

hi all, I had my pip face 2 face assessment with ATOS on 20th september, and at the end the assessor told me that he is going to recommend higher rates for me. And I got a text from dwp 21st to say they had all the info to make a decision. On 8th october I received a letter from dwp say they had all the info to make a decision.
