Is it normal to get a home visit ? I'm really worried about it to be honest ! Do I tell them what a bad day is like ?

Hi sadie1980 I have had both my assessments done at home. The 1st lady that came out was very nice and understanding very sympathetic. The 2nd one that came out in dec last year, was a right cow dotted the eyes crossed the teas, tried to trip me up on my answears. Not a nice lady in her attitude got the feeling she didnt believe anything I said my husband sat in with me, she kept telling him to go back to work. he took an hour off work to sit in with me. The 1st lady that cam didnt ask me to do anything like bend touch my toes put arms behind my back. The 2nd lady asked me to do things she watched my every move. They judge how you are whether your on edge ,calm stressed etc. Dont be fooled by them if possible have some one with you. my assessment took 1hr. I got more points with my 1st assessment than I did with my second. fibro with me has got worse since lasy year. so points should of been more or the same? Their report goes along in the dwp decideing whether we get it or not. From what got said to me and what was wrote in their decision I dont think they read the information that was sent in to the dwp. Their just out to get as many people off pip and other benefits as they can. Hope all goes well with your assessment let us know how it goes. take care gentle hugs

Hi sadie I did get awarded pip, all she did was go through the answears that I had given on the form one by one, she asked about my other conditions. when I had last seen a dr. what medication I was taking if the meds were helping. she asked me to put my arms behind my back squeeze her fingers, she wanted me to touch my toes which I couldnt do and stand for as long as I could which I couldnt do.she bascically  checked that what I wrote on the form was what I was telling her.my answears matched to what was on the form. Having trouble explaining brain in reverse todayrolleyes. who ever comes out will be watching your every move and how you are.I was nervous stressed out and it showed I found it really stressful and ended up breaking down in tears. I hadnt slept the night before that didnt help. The assessor I had last year I felt I was on trial, and that I was a liar. Hope the person that comes out to you is better than the person I had.hope it all goes well for you hun.

I asked for a home visit on both occassions. You either can have the assessment at home or at a centre. did you ask for a home visit.

    Hi Sadie,

phone I'm not too late, but yes I got a home assessment for my pip. It was better than having to go out, less stressful, and I didn't ask for it they just did it. With assessments, be as if it's a bad day, and like that's normal for you, I was advised that if you say you have good days they penalise you.

Hope everything goes well for you.
