Please, anyone else with FROZEN HIP?

I have had a hard time finding other patients with true frozen hip.  Mine is 3.5 years old now.  I have done A.R.T, physical therapy for years, acupuncture, osteopathy and seen multiple orthopedic surgeons.  My right hip is STUCK.  It will only externally rotate 35% outward.  It impedes a lot of my daily exercise and life.

If I sit in the "butterfly" position  -- the left leg is fully externally rotated, but the right is upright and stuck at about 30% rotation. I also feel a giant knot in the right gluteus maximus / piriformis area, but I think this is just a secondary condition from my long term frozen hip.

Wondering if anyone out there has had frozen hip for YEARS, then seen improvement?

Thank you in advance for reading this.

Have you seen an orthopedist for X-ray or MRI for a diagnosis of why your hip is frozen? There should be a straightforward reason for this, and it should be able to be corrected in some way. If it hasn't gotten better by now, it is probably only going to get worse.

You might want to also post this on the hip replacement forum page, since you might get more replies there. Here is the link: https://patient.info/forums/discuss/browse/hip-replacement-1109

Good luck finding a physician who can help you get a correct diagnosis and treatment plan!

Sorry, should have clarified.  I have had multiple MRIs and seen two orthopedic surgeons.  Both said I have true frozen hip (which is rare).  They have also wanted to do exploratory surgery, but I am hesitant due to scar tissue. I am so beyond down and frustrated at the lack of progress I have had -- from years of therapies....and thousands of dollars.  Thank you for your recommendation to that forum.

    Hi,

I,ve had a frozen shoulder in both of my shoulders about 5 years ago. Recently I,ve started to get real discomfort in my right hip.

After getting through 2 frozen shoulders I knew the feeling and my hip feels exactly the same in every way. I never knew you could get a frozen hip until coming across it online. The practice who treated both my shoulders with great results had never heard of a frozen hip.

    I,m a 50 year old male diabetic .

Apparently diabetics are prone to getting this problem.

Here is the technique that was used on me , like I said with great results.
