OMG, can anyone help? My poor bowel has gone back in to spasm, but nobody has suggested an antispasmodic, a liquid one. I am already taking Fybogel twice a day but only got told about this on Friday

Oh help, what on earth can i do or take, the doctor has suggested buscopan but their tablets, can you crush or get a liquid? This feels dreadful. My sister has panicked me today because she says i drink too little liquid. Do you know what fruit i could try as they were all pretty much stripped when i did the fodmap diet years back. I just want the pain to stop and my bowel not to hurt! Where would i get a liquid antispasmodic from? Boots?

I suffered with IBS with constipation for years. There were times I was literally in bed with misery. cramping that would just clutch my belly, but I could not seem to go like I needed to, or wanted to. I tried many things, but I stumbled on an herbal called Triphala, which I believe means 3 fruits. I ordered it from Walmart.com, it is very cheap, and it literally cured me. I stopped taking it off and on, and if I seem to be getting symptoms again, I go back on it for a while. Can't promise the same for you, but it is sure worth a try. And yes, lots of water too.

Buscopan are good. What is the problem with taking a tablet?

You could also try Colpermin but again this comes in tablet form.

You should drink about 7 or 8 mugs of liquid a day. Most of this should be water but tea, coffee and soup do count as well.

    Hope this helps.

hi sarah, thanks for your advice,i have always since been a kid useless at taking tablets, i'm allergic to lots of them! I am asking my doctors for liquid buscopan today

I don't understand this as i drink tonnes during the day but have next to no fruit! May be this is to do with fibre? Only my camera in 3 weeks will tell. Then i will know the truth!
