point tenderness and other pain

Ive been feeling pain when pressure is applied to the lower left and lower right abdomen. I had my second ct scan because dr suspected appendicitis. based on location but it came back clear. I thought point tenderness was a sign of imflammation or something going on with the organ. Could ibs cause this? If not then what could. I have pain in so many different areas. I had symptoms of gallbladder issues the dr even mentioned he thought it was that but scan proved it wasnt. Also getting period like cramps but havent gotten it yet and persistent low back ache that feels like si joint pain. I occasionally feel numb in feet and legs, usually left leg. I also have groin ache..I noticed my rbc steadily increases every time i get a blood count but dr's arent concerned as numbers arent high enough to warrant further look into it. But protein in blood is also slightly elevated but i guess its not high enough for concern. I get easily alarmed by test results and its giving me anxiety that i have all this pain but everything is clear. Its gotten to the point that i want something found so it can be taken care of and the anxjety to end...and ive also had ekg and chest x ray which were good too...But as of yesterday i developed pain in the shoulder muscles and theyre sore to touch. Im confused at this point. I doubt ibs could cause ALL of these symptoms. But hopefully im wrong.

    Anna,

I have had these similar symptoms . I have also had pretty much the same test as you too. I have been struggling with this for the last five years sorry to say. I also have had the bile conduction test and an ERCP = just like a EGD except with a ultra sound probe instead of a camera. The only thing they keep telling me is that I have slipped discs of the L4-5 and S-1. My ERCP test came back as multiple gallstones.

They would surly remove my gallbladder if I said too. However, I haven't had any major attacks and have multiply friends that have had major issues with sever IBS after the removal of the the gallbladder. This has been a life controlling ailment for me. I just wish they can fix or better yet even find the issue. My back only hurts with what I call a flair up. Most of my abdominal pain is referred to my left quadrant and sometimes the right has pain but not as much as the left side. Sometimes I do get upper shoulder pain on the right, which is a symptom of the gallbladder. I have seen many specialist over the past few years and so far they have really came to any conclusions. I have seen physical therapists, Endo, chiropractors, acupuncturist, four different family physicians, I continue to see my regular one of the past 20 years. I have also seen functional medical department at a well known hospital after a year and a half of a waiting list. They ran like 50 different blood test and several stool test. There outcome was to have me go on a carb free diet. At that time I had already lost 25 lbs. However, I did do what they told me to do. Which was avoid all carbs for a 30 day period to reset my system. What a waist of time and money! I have also had a few doctors mention fibromyalgia. I refuse to except that diagnosis as well..my theory is that is an idiopathic excuse for me. Since they can't seem to find the true problem! Let me mention I was on acid blockers for 10 years prior and finally weaned myself from taking them. When I first started having issues with this my foods were not digesting. Not to mention I was placed on 5 weeks of antibiotics for what they thought was sinusitis. BTW the antibiotics never help my sinus issues. I also want to mention that at this point I can no longer take acid blockers. They make me feel very ill.

Later a ENT told me my improper sinus drainage was an issue from my cervical spine. I have also seen two different endocrinologist which also conducted several blood test. I have tried multiply natural supplements as well. So far after 5 years and still trying to find a cause, WELL just manly a fix. I have tried several other doctors meds, etc. Just to many to mention right now. If you like to ask any information to this reply from me please feel free. So as of right now I'm not what sure is causing my issues and pain.

    1. Spine Disc issues (2 MRI & 3 CTs)
    2. DIGESTION Issues ( I have had 2 colonoscopys & 4 EGDs appendix, pancreas, stomach, colon, intestines) also a HIDA scan which found gallbladder functioning just fine. But, they said I have multiply gallstones. Oh and liver is fine and normal. ( I also have cyst on my liver, pancreas, and left kidney.
    3. Fibro ?? (2 Ultrasounds to check bladder, kidneys, )
    4. Hysterectomy (could this be part of my issues scar tissue?)
    5. Gallstones

      Blessings~

Hello, thank you for the reply. So you did end up having gallstones and cysts on those areas?

Also, what makes you think its not fibro? Since its been 5 years and they still havent found the cause. I dont think theres any specific tests for fibro, its based on excluding everything else out.

I can't say for sure that's it not. However, this all started with a long term dosage of antibiotics. I wouldn't think that it would cause fibro. but, who knows! They have no testing for fibro you are correct!

So therefore they have no cause for it either. How does one get fibro.?

All my symptoms gradually appeared a month after giving birth. Maybe thats what caused it but for some reason I just dont think child birth itself could cause these onset of issues. Im still pretty recent postpartum, i gave birth on march first this year. So i havent been dealing with these issues for that long but different areas of pain keep popping up it freaks me out. It doesnt help that i have health anxiety and get easily alarmed by little things. The lack of diagnosis is frustrating. Five years of not knowing whats going on would drive me insane. I tend to think the worst and i have the bad habit of googling which fuels my anxiety. Its like im subconciously trying to get the doctors to find what im afraid of.

Goto a neurologist or a neurosurgeon and tell him your symptoms and ask for a full spine mri. Your symptoms are very much related to nerve compression.

good point! Im honestly nervous calling the doc now. Ive been seen so many times, im pretty sure the whole staff at the clinic know who i am. But youre right , since i look things up a lot, what you mentioned has popped up. I hope i can directly speak to a neurologist. I usually need a referrel through my main gp for specialty care. I am doing physical therapy though. I could bring it up to him. Im afraid i wont be takrn seriously now.

Ive also been diagnosed with piriformis syndrome a month ago. maybe that could thatpoint to this kind of issue as well?

Can't you change your GP? Your symptoms are of compressed nerve. The things is once a nerve is compressed and things start going into spasm, other muscles start acting as well so a person feels pain in different region. I am confident you have either a compressed nerve or thing related to your spine or nerve roots. You maybe lacking essential Vitamins like Vit D and Calcium. Do stretching exercises and swimming if possible.

yea that makes sense. I am currently doing stretching but one of them feels uncomftortable to do now

      HumanBeing,

I really like your input on this issue since I have had very similar issues. I am still trying to find a rhyme or reason for my continues pain issues. I have had mri and diagnosed with bulging and herniated discs. I'm curious about your comment about compressed nerves. I'm wondering if my continuous left quad pain could be just that?

    Hi anna28284

You mentioned numbness in feet and leg, have you had your B12 levels tested they are not tested in a routine blood test it has to be specifically requested. Numbness is a sign of B12 deficiency. Do you experience fatigue and lethargy? I had B12 deficiency and i had pain in groin and left side and pain in different areas. Ask for your B12 levels to be tested also your vitamins and minerals. You don't mention your age, but normal levels vary according to age...

im 25. Ive been taking a b12 supplement for awhile. Idk if i could still have a deficiency. I dont think i have fatigue and lethargy. I also have abdominal cramping which i thouhht was my ibs but it seems different. i heard disc issues can cause abdominal pain but im not sure. And after my ct scan ive developed upper back stiffness. The discomfort migrated from lower back to upper back.
