Hi noticed some irritation on the penis glans and on the foreskin on Saturday morning. skin was dry and appeared to be wrinkled and peeling. Applied Daktarin which has cleared things up a little. skin is still dry and be quite itchy especially on the foreskin around the corona area.

Sexually active with same partner for last 7 years.

Do you wash your penis with soap when showering?

Honestly this looks exactly like mine. It gets worse when erect and looks like more vessels under the glans and inflamed. Been struggling with it for 18 months and no resolution (sorry to s are you) my trigger was unprotected oral, have you received that recently? do either of you have hsv1, coldsores?

Still going here mate. Cipro sorted me out for a few weeks but short dose. Had a ultrasound which confirmed mild epididymitis but basically brushed off and told its not really an issue. Brilliant. Still getting the issues with gland with discolouration and almost cut like marks at time mainly under foreskin and around corona.

sorry to hear that pal i was wondering how you were doing. No improvement here either. Started Pregabalin but not sure its done much, early days though.

Yeah they killed private message. Fingers crossed, let me know if any joy. Cipro sorted me right out for a few weeks that back to as it was. Bad times

you been tested for sti's? think it effects everyone differently as people have different stories and symptoms. My trigger was unprotected oral and symptoms have lasted for over 12 months. It effects me with sex yes, just feels uncomfortable and hot, i guess part is in my head as dont know the exact cause. Good luck.

Still convinced mine is bacterial due to the added epididymitis I have the pleasure of. Totally went away with Cipro although only given a weeks worth which i dont feel was long enough to clear it fully

i'm going to try and get another urologist appointment. All they seem to do is put their finger up your bum and feel your balls. Weird career choice. Maybe im just bitter because they dont try to help.

Yep. Seen a number to no avail. Cant remember, you UK?

    • Posted

yep UK based, NHS no help so doing my best with private medical but running out of options and people to listen. I cant accept the changes to me with no answer.

i know i dont blame you im the same given up hope.

managed to get appointments to see an ID doctor now and also professor Bunker through my PMI. will be phone/video consultation but will send pics. Main issue is when erect so makes no difference.

Be keen to see how you get on. Might go for that as well if this fails

im more interested in the infectious disease doctor. Honestly this is killing me at the moment. My life is messed up all from

one moment. Im sure mine is herpes related, potentially acyclovir resistant? will obviously update.

Every doctor ive seen says this is not how herpes presents. Given ive seen a fair few and they have all trained for years you have to heed that advice

yeah i hear that, but nobody seems to know a lot about it. i bet redness and cuts at the top of my bum from time to time. Just hard as i never known i had hsv.

shame the message thing has gone, that was really useful even from a mental health perspective. Just clog up the news feed.

    • Posted

Yeah less than ideal that. Ive still got the epididymitis so cant see how herpes would cause that. I'm out of ideas though so hey who knows. Mentally a tough gig now and costing a fortune

how you doing pal? ive got an app with pro bunker next week so lets see how it goes.

    • Posted

Yeah intrigued to know how that goes. My epididymitis has gone with the latest set of antibiotics and thankfully no more abdominal pain. This did happen last time though so keeping an eye on it. Still got the glans issue but coming to terms with the fact that might be the new norm

so Pro Bunker said he was confident it was Lichen Screlosis on my penis and psoriasis around my anus. Only a phone consultation, I sent him about 20 pics and summary.

he said no pics look herpes related and he was confident in that.

Not sure what i make of it?

anyway trying dermovate for 30 days and something else for psoriasis.

Yeah interestingly one of the dermatologists said mine was some sort of skin complaint and that i was likely allergic to something. Didn't explain the epididymitis and groin pain though hey! Thankfully and touch wood the longer dose of antibiotics has worked for me so things much better for time being (another reason why i cant see past it being bacterial!)

      Fingers crossed mate

mine looks the exact same as yours mate same symtoms aswell , it has been like this for 9 months now , seen a few dermatologists the last one thinks it could be penile dysesthesia , keep me updated i will do the same

Literally driving me insane. Everytime i think ive cracked it, it then comes back. Now have the stinging sensation back in left side of glans and the glans seems to look worse when its warm. Main issues are still to the left hand side under foreskin. It goes away for a period (3-4 weeks) after antibiotics which is why i keep coming back to bacteria as the cause

i know how you feel it has completely took over my life for a year any sexual intercourse is to uncomfortable to enjoy the thing what is getting me down most is i havent seen one story where it has been cured

Hi! I have a situation like the one in the photo, I have no symptoms, but penis changed skin, its more light pink and my foreskin fells uncomfortable, like sometimes is sticky, expecially after wash. Im from Italy, I've seen 8 doctors, one said Lichen Sclerosus, and litterally made me depressed, other 7 said that I dont have lichen sclerosus, but dont know that it is. Any update from your situation?

    • Posted

No these forums make for depressing reading. Have looked all round the internet but no clear answers, or even the hint of an answer. Its not going to be anything new just difficult to find. Issue is if only looking for certain things then the rest of it will get missed

    • Posted

Do you have any theory of what our situation could be?

    • Posted

Difficult to answer as all could be something different. For me I suspect its bacterial. I say that as not much else that would cause epididymitis (not virus related which rules out Herpes etc) plus it clears up for a period with certain antibiotics

It happens to me too that after oral antibiotic and antifungal pills I felt better, then I stopped because I choose to take it by mylself, with no medical suggestion. Plus 7 on 8 doctors said that I dont have any pathology, nor the Lichen Sclerosus. Im still fighting with this situation, using just moisturizing creams and Vitamine E in pills, but are pretty useless. Im still thinking it could be something bacterical. I have no symptoms like burning or itching. I had prostatitis during this period, passed with antibiotics and antinflammatory pills. I'm thinking about the cause related with HPV. My doctors keep saying im GOOD, that there is NOTHING, but my skin changed and want to know why. What your doctors thinks you have?

    • Posted

They dont know as I pass all tests. The scan did show the epididymitis but they didn't seem too bothered by it.

    • Posted

Listen, there is a way, if you want, to keep in contact personally too? Just for a confrontation. Anyway, I've been tested for everything, except clamidya and tricomonas, everything negative, i felt better after antibiotics, but now the situation seems to be stuck. How will you proceed? Will u do any other kind of tests or other visits?
