Is it normal to have "tired" eyes after cataract surgery?  Eyes are NOT dry, they just get tired off and on throughout the day.  I am still using prescription drops and will continue for another 3.5 weeks.

I had corrective lense replacement surgery neatly 2 months ago & my eyes did feel tired & heavy at times . I spoke to the hospital where I had my surgery & they assured me this was normal & would eventually stop .

I would sY very normal - especially if you are reading or looking at screens much. I took a week off work but honestly even after 3 weeks I was tired and at end of day felt pressure on eye.  I am just over 5 weeks and it gets better each week.

It definitely gets better every week . I had extremely dry itchy eyes after surgery and was using drops regularly throughout the day & night . Now I only use them morning & night & occasionally during the day at work .

Hi Pam and the other who have replied to your post, I am like a gramaphone record I have said this so often, I had my first eye done June 2016 and the second done in Aug 2016, both times I had sever pain for 4 to 5 days it was awful, they said it was caused by pressure, I still have tired heavy eyes, I dont use any drops, they feel itchy quite a lot too and this is a bit disconcerting because I dont think it is ever ok to rub your eyes and so difficult when they feel itchy, but all this not being very good my eyesight is better than it was before surgery.  I just put up with these symptoms and shouldnt be moaning about it but it does give me comfort to know that I am not alone with these feelings of tiredness and heaviness.  Although I have been going on about these symptoms for a long time it was only today that anyone has said that they too have or have had my symptoms.  Unlike me I hope that those who have my symptoms recover and I think there is a good chance that you will I was just unlucky I think and everyone who has this op has symptoms of one kind or another very few are perfect after the op

This site can be very helpful and comforting discussing after op symptoms

    Regards Agnes

I do not have tired eyes after surgery. But prior to surgery I felt tired all the time due to the blurry vision and I had developed anxiety that last even after the surgery it caused some ocular migraines.

Were u able to sleep well at night ?

Has anyone experienced a dizzy feeling after surgery?  I am thinking that my brain is trying to get used to seeing very sharp images and is thus causing this dizzy feeling I am having.  If that is the case how long before I can expect this to stop?

How much time had passed since your surgery?  24 hours after I was very dizzy.  Thinking due  to Ativan I was given.  Feel fine now however after first eye done I had to wait 6 weeks between surgeries.  I did have noughts of dizziness given images in 2 eyes were different

My second eye was done one week ago.  I started using over the counter eye drops because my eyes were very dry in the middle of the night (when I woke up for the rest room).  My doctor said to use any kind except Visine.  I chose Blink for dry eyes.  I am now thinking I am having a reaction to the drops, because I do not have the dizziness during the day.  Time to find a different type.  Suggestions?

      Are you in the U.K.

You could try Hyco Dans + . You can get them from your local optician or pharmacy

I like Systane ultra drops.   Systane also has a gel one that someone told me about that they use at night for extra help with dry eye.  My doc recommded Refresh.  I asked about Systane and he said that would be fine too.
