Post Op Boot is very Painful

Hi, I am hoping someone can describe through a picture or message me a link to an alternative boot that I will then email to my surgeon to get his approval...I have NO ROOM in the toe area and have the terrible "bunion pain" that I have not had for 10 years because I faithfully wore wide enough shoes with orthotics in them..Anyway, I am 61 inches tall and this boot is so heavy also, and I told my doc that I need to come in and get another boot - they will give me this same one in an even bigger size and I cannot bear to wear this one...my sutures in the bunion area just are throbbing - so if I can get something picked out, I am hoping my surgeon will let me get it myself...thanks for any options you can suggest...

Good morning Susan, I have just been looking in to see how you are doing.  I hope you managed to get a satisfactory meeting with your surgeon yesterday.

This site truly does gives great support and even being able to write it down to receive support from those who understand is a huge boost before and after the op.  I know at some stage I will be joining the post op 'gang'.  Not looking forward to it I must admit.

Realy pleased to read you have been able to play the piano again - good for the soul.

Waiting to hear how you got on so will look in later.

    Hi Susan,

I finally found someone who has my same problem.  My feet are very wide and hard plastic buklt in strap holder is too close and digs right into my foot where my fracture is.  So painful.  When I add air , it's just so tight that it kills my foot in the most sensitive area! I'm supposed to wear this for  4 wks before I see doctor again.  I feel like I'm causing it not to heal correctly my this inflmmation to that area! Glad you understand!
