Very early days yet, take it very slow. Is not unusual to get a UTI especially if you've had a ureathral catheter insitu?
Drink plenty of clear fluids..pressure sore where? Did I read it correctly?
It's a major operation it will take a week or two to start to get your Energy reserves back.. General anaesthetics can play havoc with your body!
Some more than others, you may feel internal sharp pains periodically, this is the internal Sutures, and nerves, get up slowly from the bed or chairs, this when it's likely to pull or feel uncomfortable.
Don't lift anything heavy!! and rest as much as possible with your feet up!
Make sure you take a softener like Lactulose for your bowels as the tablets will make you very constipated.. pressure in this region needs to be lessoned.. so is my advice constipation is typical post Op.
you will be glad you had this operation in time, will be the best thing you ever did!
I had a total Hysterectomy with removal of cervix in 2004 never looked back!
best of luck..

i would certainly suggest you sleep on your side, turn side to side until your pressure sore has healed, use savlon povidon iodine spray on the sore area to the sacral area low back. This will give it a chance, don't worry about your sutures, there will be internal sutures as well which will dissolve in time.. is shouldn't affect these..I removed my ow continuous stitch being a Nurse. Try and move as much as possible, the pain will reduce in time then you can come down on the analgesics.

I'm sorry you're feeling so low. It's still early days for you. Please give yourself plenty of time to recover. I would suggest that you might want to start taking a probiotic that will help the bacterial balance in your uro-genital and gastro-intestinal tracts. That might help keep you uti free and with your digestion.
Also try to make sure that you're getting enough water to help your body rid itself of the medication you're taking. I would suggest that you discontinue the pain meds as soon as you are able. Believe it or not, they help with the pain, but they can also make you feel depressed.
I hope this helps! Please let me know how you get on!

Feeling better now im lot more mobile. Only take pain relief at night and thats more for my arthritis in my spine. Still cant sleep on side but do remember after 2 caesareans it was the same.
My biggest issue now is the support socks i was measured but tgey have never fitted properly so have been told to stop wearing them as they are likely doing more harm so now i have the dvt worry.

Hi there,
Glad to know you're feeling mobile. I would suggest that you try to move around as much as you are able during the day, such as get up and walk around every hour. The dvt worry is a real one, for sure. It's too bad the stockings didn't fit well. I think you could order some on line if you would feel better doing it.
I was prescribed shots of anti-coagulant in my tummy. My husband gave them to me, and in the end he did quite well.
If your legs start burning or aching as if you've really wrenched a muscle, that's a sign. Did they give you a list of blood clot symptoms?

They didnt give me a list but having previous knee surgery am aware of symptoms i had thought about getting some of those flight socks as they may fit better. Its night i worry about as am very mobile in the day now.

I think that getting the flight socks is an excellent idea! I've had two friends develop DVT in their legs, as a result of being on the birth control patch.
One kept exercising, thinking she'd pulled a muscle. She was in pain for 3 days and wouldn't go to the ER..fortunately, she finally got to the point where she could barely breath and did.
The second one was our office manager. She was telling me she felt terrible, ached all over, especially in her upper chest and arms. I told her I thought she had a blood clot and she needed to go to the ER right away. She said, "Okay I will, as soon as I do payroll." I reached across her, turned off her computer, and escorted her out of the building. I asked her if she wanted me to drive her and she refused.
Fortunately, both of them recovered. But it completely turned me off as far as HRT and birth control go. These substances are so dangerous, and they give them to women every day, promising eternal youth and no worries about conception.
I hope you continue to recover! Take good care of yourself! xx

You should not be doing this any sort of heavy work, lifting or otherwise even at 4 months it's still far too soon.. it will take a year to get back to Normal in this instance.. from personal experience and experience a a Gyne Nurse..I was still feeling sharp pains in the womb area after 6 months.

Cheryl,
You've had major surgery. It takes 6 weeks for your external stitches to start healing, and can take up to 6 months or longer to heal internally.
Please be gentle with yourself!

Thank you Lynda..i learned more from you than my dr..lol. He told me that after 6 weeks i could start having sex but i was scared so i waited 9 and ending up with a hole in the vaginal cuff. Now i don't have sex at all

I'm sorry to learn you were hurt. When I went in for my final post op, either 6-8 weeks afterwards, my oncologist-surgeon gave us the "you can resume sex" talk. Which was, to me, pretty stupid, but he's a man, and my husband's a man, and what's their priority? lol.
I've got vaginitis, and my vaginal wall feels like a paper bag to me. It hurts if I sit down for too long so sex would have to be pretty spectacular to make me want to get seriously hurt for it. I don't want to go on HRT (too dangerous to me). I don't believe the hype that it can make you young and vital again. Women pay a high price to go on HRT, including blood clots and strokes. No thanks.
I'm sure that it's difficult for my husband, don' want to be mean. But I doubt that if the situation were reversed, he'd want sex either--wait, who'm I kidding?

Haha..that's very true about the men. Mine is being understanding even tho i know it bothers him that i won't let him touch me. But he says that he's afraid that he will break my vagina again..lol
I'm sorry that you hurt as well. I had mine abdominal and my friend had that scope thing thru the belly button. She was out shopping two days later. I was still in the hospital 2 days after..lol.
I was on some hormone vaginal cream and a patch but took myself off them cuz i thought i wad ls going crazy. I feel better without them

Well, to be fair, I can't have hormones. I had cancer, you see. I had a lap procedure, with the main exterior incision being the belly button. I am okay and doiing fine. My recovery from surgery took quite a while. I don't bounce back easily.
Mine is being understanding as well. I'm thankful for that. I'm just not into the general cultural worship of sex. Of course, at one time of my life it was rather important, but now other things matter more--which is good 'cause I'm not willing to get injured over it.
