Post viral symptoms / syndrome

Hello eveyone,
I have been diagnosed with "post viral symptons". I have not got a clue what it is.Has anyone heard of this. For over two months I have been suffering from the following:
Heavy head feeling,
unbalanced.
constant pressure in the head
flu like symptons but no fever.
Pins and needles in left and right leg. Sometimes hot and cold flushes in the leg.
Prickly feeling in the arms
Muscle fatigue or cramping in the hands. I feel like my hands are so stiff sometimes.
Fatigue all the time ( despite having a good sleep).
Apparently I had a viral infection and then one by one these symptons appeared. it is dragging me down. I have MRI, blood test which came back okay except for slight raised "infection".
Does anyone else have these symptons? It is dragging me down. Is there a solution. The Dr says there is no treatment but it will disspear or subside on its own... when? when? when? Some days I can handle it other days I want to just curl up.
No offence but this syndrome just sounds so wishy washy. Could I be misdiagnosed?
Sad Elle.

I'm near tears. All this, could have been my words. All of it. It started as a sinusinfection with blocked maxillary sinus infection. Then they said an upper viral respetory infection on top of that. I went through xrays, ct scans and mri's of my neck and brain. Countless bloodwork. Swollen glands all the way around my neck. Swollen face. Swollen lymphnodes. Night sweats. Arm weakness. Stiff jaw and neck (worst sympton at the time). Tightness in chest. Strange feeling in my pinky's. Weakness in upper body muscles. I'm currently on steroids, antibiotics, afrin and flonase as i'm still battingn the maxillary infection along with all the other symptons nobody can find a cause for on paper. How is everybody doing? I'm so overwhelmed. Its been six weeks and it suddenly feels like i'm understood. Oh my god.

I'm experiencing the exact same thing! It all started in November of 2015 after getting laryngitis. The symptoms seemed to have subsided mostly after the virus ran its course but some strange symptoms lingered. Blurred vision, head pressure, numbness, to fling and fatigue. It went on for months and months but wasn't always bothersome. It came and went. Then my son got adenovirus and ended up hospitalized for it. I believe that I got the same thing vecause I ended up more sick than I've ever been in my life. This was in August of 2016. Since then, my symptoms have been out of control. I can't even list them all because there are so many. My body will go from freezing cold to burning hot within seconds, sometimes it will feel like my skin is being burned for a second, I have numbness, tingling, flushing of my skin, low-grade fevers, flu-like aches and uncontrollable chills, recurrenr sore throats, head pressure, ears feel full and won't pop, vertigo, right jaw and neck, feeling like there's a rod in my spine and neck, burning ribs, IBS, food allergies, hives, constant itching, tightness in my chest like I'm getting pneumonia but it never progresses, constant fluid in my lungs and in my head, feeling like my skin can't stretch, extreme muscle weakness and fatigue, a very subtle buzzing feeling throughout my entire body, feeling like my heart is beating too slow or too fast, chest pain, floaters in my eyes, pain in my fingertips and on my scalp, shortness of breathe, a feeling like hot liquid is running through my body, feeling like someone injected my nerves with nitrogen, feeling like I'm going to have a seizure at any moment. The list goes on and on and on and on. I miss the old me. I have a 19 month old son and I'm 13 weeks pregnant. Being sick with pregnancy * going through this has me feeling like I'm dying. Some days I can't even take care of my son. Blood work is normal and my MRI was perfectly clean. My husband has MS and my son has a condition called FPIES that makes it so that he only has 5 safe foods and he goes into shock from even a crumb on the floor. Having my health decline on top of all of it has me feeling so hopeless

This is just a quick message to everyone on here with post viral. There's a lot of nessages here from people who are suffering from it and feel like that the rest of their life will be like this. Frankly, it's not true. For a fact I had post viral badly. Couldn't walk for months. All the strangest neurological symptoms you could imagine...I was convinced this would be my life... and I'm now 100% better and back to my normal self like nothing happened. It took me about a year to get back to normal from when I was hit hard with the flu. Let me tell you this, reading up and self diagnosing and asking strangers on the internet isn't the way to do it. You'll make yourself worse. I worked out that most of the info I was getting was from elderly, depressed folk who haven't helped themselves to get better. Think extremely positive, get into fitness 5 days a week (even if it's just a run/walk), get on a good diet, go out and socialise and have fun and stay happy. The body will bounce back. However, the mind is very powerful and it won't let you if you're convinced you'll be like this forever (I know I did). Forget doctors, there's no medicine for post viral. See a good naturopath and explain everything- you'll be surprised how great they are. I'm more than happy to have to chat to anyone going through the hardships, but honestly, only you can make yourself better. Goodluck and stay positive, you will get better

Hi Xen,
Glad to hear you got better from post viral fatigue. For quite a few people this leads onto cfs/me which again, people recover from but, not all. Positive thinking can help any illness as can eating healthily etc. It's not a cure either though. Btw, I'm not elderly or depressed (you mentioned above thats who you seemed to be talking to) just someone with cfs/me from a car crash-things aren't so black and white in the world :D

Hello xen024,
My doctor told me it was probably post viral symptoms. It's been 3mo., feeling better. My symptoms sound similar to you and Elle1234. My bloodwork is excellent, Vitamin D level is 71, B12 is 736. I have a great, positive attitude, eat right and exercise. My energy is high.
So, my question is, how long did it take before you were symptom free? Sometimes I think that maybe these annoying lingering symptoms might never go away.
God bless,
Dean

I came down with this weird illness about 6 months ago.
After all the scans and blood tests they have not been able to find anything .Its been so frustrating.
What were your symptoms and How long did it take you to get completely over?
Post Viral has been mentioned by a couple of my Drs but dont remember getting a specific virus.
Thanks
Tim

Hi Elle, not sure if you're still following this Thread, but I'm going to reply hopefully that you read this. So I recently turned 19 I've been to the emergency room twice of course nothing turned up with the test.
My Symptoms:
Initial Symptoms:
-Pins and Needles(Feel as if my legs were asleep)
-Numb feeling in Shin.
Those kind of went away, unless I lay/sit in a certain position.
-Muscle Weakness
If I run up the stairs, my legs would feel tired, then if I run down my legs wouldn't feel tired. Which is weird.
-Muscle Aches and Pain
-Twitching throughout my body(Cheek, Legs, Feet, and Arms)
Now searching frantically through the internet just makes me even more nervous, which is causing anxiety and depressed. I've read through a lot of this thread, I'm going to a neurologist soon, all I can do is hope and pray.

Justin, don't self diagnose on the internet mate. What you say could be a million things. Best to get all the checks done first to rule out anything serious. Once everything is ruled out then start looking at your issues holistically. Just think back to when it all started, did anything set that off? Were you sick? Injury? Usually the answer is right in front of you half the time. Good luck and stay positive

My dog bit me in my face back in March. I try not to self diagnose but the Brain is a very powerful thing though. I had a few headaches from the bit because I was bit on the bridge of my nose and cheek. Can't really recall anything else. But it is possible that I've had flu like symptoms. This pain started a little before my 19th birthday. I think I hurt myself climbing into the window.

Typically post viral comes from a virus. I had the flu very badly for a week and it gave me post viral for about a year. Im 100% fine now. I'm not sure a dog bite would do that? Best to rule out any diseases the dog bite may have given you first. Typically it's pretty rare if it's domesticated and has injections etc. Other than that, I'm not sure if this is the right forum for you.

Hi Justin,
I think you have connected with some of the symptoms that are linked to CFS/me. The biggest symptom is unrefreshed sleep, do you feel you have this?
I know its hard not to want to google when we know somethingisnt quite right with us but, like you say can make you more anxious/depressed. When do you see the neurologist? Explain what's going on for you. Write it all down so you don't forget anything and see what they think.
Hope this helps
Beverley
