Thank you very much for creating this post.

    I am 65 years.

Hotflashes on and off STILL for years. Day and waking me up at night.

Feet stiff swollen joints, knots in arch tendons or muscles. Muscle bottom and top feet spasm, cramp. (Do have foot injuries).

At night sometimes, especially is eat sugar; will be resting and suddenly feet cramping muscles and pulls the whole foot, ankle in and up, PAIN! Goes into legs especially if lot walking hills lately, heavy lifting. The scariest, most painful muscle cramps. It always happens right at the beginning of and into a hot flash! About a year ago a hotflash hit me in the middle of walking fast in my army boots in the house. The hotflash locked up the muscles in my big toe and made me fall! Flat onto the floor on hands and knees. Needs dark brown, black for week and took 3 weeks for large bruises to clear. left with some weird injuries. Have been using a walker-like tiny shopping cart since then as the foot has never healed and toe, arch gets stiff easy. And the doctor just says arthritis and never did xray!

Losing weight to 115 pounds helps but I rarely can keep it there. (I am a diet coke addict and trying to quit that poison artificial sweetener. But swear menopause makes my injuries take forever to heal! Last period (if count tiny spotting that can only be seen when do a test with tampon) was about 1 and 1/2 years ago. Tried progesterone, estrogen; causes vertigo, vision problems, extreme fatigue spells =thyroid off. Waiting for age 70? AHHH! Like Germain Greer's book; The Change.

Thanks again for all these posts. It gives me hope that there is a end to all this, someday. Weird how some days, nights fell ok. Even foot some better. Then it all comes back.

Lost weight and lot exercise and fell great!

Gain just 7 to 10 pounds and many joints hurt; feet! Upper spine (old injury bruise...), neck, right side head, lower back muscles, left hip, hands (from holding tight on a walker to prevent ripping feet apart and too much computer), just tons of joints hurt. This happens MUCH more right before and into a hot flash!; I know when a hot flash is coming because it makes any old injuries, joints that have been overused lately or stressed from the weight... hurt, sometimes a lot! Pins, needles arms... sometimes. Hot flash is over; and pain gone or 90% less. Lose weight and many joints, pain 100% healed, feeling ok! Caring for others, lifting for them makes things worse, but only sometimes.

Age 65 1/2 - STILL Hotflashes day and night! Causes PAIN and CRAMPS in feet, legs, back, often in any joint, muscle that is stressed or old injuries... Also so hard lose heavy fat! PAIN in feet in hotflash at night in bed is horrific and scary. Will it ever end! 95, 98 year old ladies in our building doing great! Heavy lifting... walking a mile. very fat 105 year old lady in my home town did ok! I feel trapped! When does it end!?

Roll on back muscles with 2 tennis balls in a sock. on muscles only! Do NOT press in bones, joints or misalignment can occur. Epsom salt cream helps but worry about taking too much, dependent on it.

For dizzy and sinus; use a salt in pure water steamer. No mist. STEAM works. Close eyes so not to get burned. Inhale up nose. 20 minutes. No red clover, no estrogen or progesterone, herbs... creams! They can cause dizziness.

Bag under eye; I have that when too much salt, tofu (another source of too much estrogen and goofs up thyroid so I try to avoid it). Bags go away most time. Swear still have hormones fluctuating. Mom in her seventies said; She gets feelings like going get period, lot symptoms sometimes. But none wants to believe her, or not want to hear it.

Think future Kim. You might be one of the lucky ones and get past it soon and be free.

I like The Change by Germaine Greer.

(I have noticed that a few people do not like it when I speak against taking hormones, so I hope my post to you does not get deleted or flooded with people advising hormones.) Good luck.

I can relate to shortness of breath, no appetite, sinus and managed the gas with Betaine HCL + apple cider vinegar. Like you I wonder when it will stop. I've also started getting slightly sick when I eat in the evening - but it passes quickly, although scary. Stay strong and hope it will pass soon. x

    Hi ladies,

Age 66. Hot flashes since 40's, more in 50's, lot more in 60s. Joint, muscle pain, cramps legs, feet... Question; anyone have this; when a hotflash is about to hit me, I get symptoms right before and part of the beginning time it hits me ; Feels like the hot flash gets 'stuck' in any joints, muscles, soar bones aggravated from heavy lifting, miles walking... Its scary; I have a foot injury; bone spur top foot. Will be walking fine, then suddenly the toe gets 'stuck'. ALWAYS a hot flash is trying to break through and occur. Immediately or in about 1 min a big hot flash occurs. Often all veins temporarily swollen during the flash. I fell one time due to the hot flash making the foot injury bone, joint get stuck, stop moving. Hurt knees, hands falling. Had this for few years; just muscles suddenly tighten. But now with so many injuries its worse. Have to use a cane or walker in case a hot flash sneaks up and locks me up. Trying to lose weight so foot heals and other body parts; muscles, joints stop straining. The worst is cramps in the feet, legs over and over at night as multiple hot flashes hit me every 20 min to 2 hours. Sometimes wish life was over. Praying will all stop when hot flashes stop. Tubal in 20's. No kids. Regret it. Thanks for listening.

I honestly thought at this phase in life the symptoms would be behind me. I will be 60 next month and I can say without a doubt post menopause has definitely been the worst stage of menopause for me. I don't think it will ever end:(
