I got my pre-op and operation dates at the same time, 5 weeks apart, but I think it differs by hospital.   They migh know your op date when you go for pre-op.  Or at least how long the waiting list is, roughly. Good luck!

I had a TAH on the 18th June last yr, pre op was 7 days before. I also got both my appointments together, I sailed through the op even though I am diabetic and have heart failure, didnt need any pain killers afterwards and was home in 5 days.

Take nighties not pj's and get some peppermint oil capsules, I found these great for wind, how are you having it done?

Hi, I live in Surrey and I had my pre op on 12 January. I was having a total hysterectomy for excessive heavy bleeding, the worst lasted for 5 months. However that stopped 5 months ago and am now perimenaausal, so as of two weeks ago i was taken off the waiting list, although previous to this, when I rang the hospital to make my last appointment the receptionist told be the op would probably be towards the end of May, beginning of June.

I think it depends where you live. I suppose the higher the population where you live the longer you'll have to wait.

Hi sorry for late reply I have had the worst

flu. I really hope all goes well on Thursday on the up side it will be over & you will be on

the road to recovery in a week or so you will be helping me & loads of ladies in the same position with advice that is not only helpful but comforting as its from one who has been

through the op & sharing her recovery with

us warts & all. I'm still waiting for date I've

been told could be around 6 weeks, I wish

I had a date really its a bit like having life

on hold. When I had the Rectocele repair

done I felt like I walked in the Hospital fine

& came out feeling awful but with this I feel

I will walk in & come out eventually to feel

so much better...and so will you.

God bless. Let us know how you get on.

At least you know that you have a minimum of 3 months to prepare for your op.

I had my pre-op on 24th Feb 2016 with my hospital date of 2nd March 2016. My op was actually cancelled on the day (no beds) but was re-scheduled for the 23rd March and now I am nearly 3 weeks post op! I had laparoscopy and feel really good, it may sound weird but I have a sense of "being cleansed" for the first time since my 20's. Best of luck to you xxx
