Prednisone side effects

I have been on 60mg of prednisone for two weeks now. I keep having trouble with a rapid heart beat often times over 120bpm and my blood pressure is running high. When your heart beats so fast, it's scarey and hard to breathe. I feel like I am literally going to die. Has anyone else experienced this when on prednisone?

    I have recently heard, and confirmed with my Doctor, that zanex taken with the prednisone will help aleveate the rapid heart beat and increase in blood pressure. When the doctor was informed of this, he said, "Of course, it works in the same part of the brain." and no problem prescribing .5mg zanex for me 3 times daily. I don't take it unless I am really having a problem, as I don't like the "fuzzy" feeling.

    Hi I am on 40mg Pred at the moment, Started getting Rapid Heart Beat ,Went to Doctors had a ECG done ,That was OK,Blood Presure High Doc arranging to have a cuff fitted for 48Hours to moniter this,Then I realized every time I had Cheese I got the Rapid Heart Beat,So for me Pred must not like Cheese,Shame cos I do.
