Premique Low Dose - Not in stock anywhere?

After many years on Premique Low Dose, I now find it is not in stock at any Chemists. Is anyone else having the same problem? If so, is there a similar HRT I can change to?

Hi, Sandra here, I was on the Noresthistone 5mg and Premarin 0.3mg but then my spanish GP put me on Angeliq and I started bleeding (not good at 64) then my UK GP gave me Tibolone (Livial) and I was still bleeding after 3 weeks so I just bit the bullet and stopped everything and 'touch wood'..........after the 4 weeks since I stopped, apart from the odd night sweat I feel fine. Ironically, two weeks ago, Tesco Pharmacy called me to say they had a 3month supply of Premique low dose so it might be back in circulatio9n. I also feel the other thing that has helped enormously with my feeling of wellbeing is Vitamin B12 as my levels were at 280 and the minimum should be between 500 - 1000, so another option perhaps. I will see how I go without HRT for a couple of months and if I feel I need it again I will go back on it, my UK GP is very amenable to me using it.

I would say try for Premique LD again to see if it's back on the market as the call was only a couple of weeks ago.

At last, Premique low dose back in stock in local chemist plus at Tesco. Asked GP for 6 months dose but only gave me the usual 3. Have been on it 4 days now. Fingers crossed it does not run out again and we all face the massive shortage and trying to find alternatives. Keeping everything crossed!

I have some great news - Premique Low Dose is back and I was prescribed it today having had a miserable time on Prempak. Your chemist may not be aware of this, i asked my local chemist to check the suppliers before i went to the doctor's and they were surprised to see it back on the market. They ordered it for me this morning ready to pick up tomorrow morning. Good luck and may your misery come to an end

Hi all, well following on from my previous posts further up this thread, I came off all HRT in April because I couldn't get Premique Low Dose and the alternatives were making me bleed, I was absolutely fine except I felt as though I was aging rapidly. My skin went dry, wrinkly and thin even with masses of moisturiser and my joints ached so I decided to go back on Livial (Tibolone) a couple of weeks ago, no adverse reaction, no weight gain yet (hopefully) and my skin has improved. At 64 I just don't feel ready to come off HRT, maybe is phsycological but I do feel better. Perhaps Tibolone is the alternative to Premique LD.

    Hi

I've been following this thread but not contributed before I've been on Premique low dose 0.3 for a few years now and had great difficulty getting it for the last year my last two supplies came from an online pharmacy but they now can't get it.......

after advice from my chemist I rang Pfizer customer care, there is none available as they are changing the production site but supplies will be available early 2017 they could not be more specific as it depends on legal things being in place!

They said they have notified all GP's about this(mine didn't know).

hope this is true just have to sweat it out over Xmas!

    Hi

After being refused HRT for two years (because of my age) I found a Dr who prescribed Premique low dose and have been taking them for the last three months with great success, however, could not get my repeat prescrption filled  because they have been withdrawn. the Dr has given me a substitue and has prescribed Femoston-conti o.5mg/2.tmg tablets.  I am about to start taking them, can anyone report on Fermoston. Like all the other reports on Premique I have been feeling great on the low dose.

I've been on Premique low dose for more than 15 years, very happy with the lack of night sweats, day sweats and anything else associated with the menopause.  I'm actually in the middle of writing a very stiff letter of complaint to both a well-known high street pharmacy chain and my GP surgery, in which one of the issues is that when I went to collect my prescriptrion today (26Nov16) I was informed that Premique is no longer available, and I ran out of the drug yesterday.  Astonished that no-one thought to mention there were problems to me before this, and now very concerned at what I've read here.

From personal experience, especially if anyone has tried two or more options, what would you recommend?

      Hi Zibbyl

when premique low dose was out of stock last time, I was put on Kliovance which I found suited me okay. The drug company said that they send a list of drugs that are not available to all the GPs on a monthly basis so they can't understand why GPs are still prescribing Premique. I was on 0.3 mg. I am down to my last 6 premique now, so it will be interesting to see what he prescribes.
