Prescribed 100mg sertraline and feeling unwell.

Hi there🙂

I have been prescribed 100mg sertraline and started yesterday. I have been quite ill throughout the night. Stomach ache, nausea, dizzy, trembling, feel flu like. I felt so bad i couldnt go to work this morning.

I'm worried about work as im not one for days off and i feel like if i take the medication again tonight i wont be able to go tomorrow either.

Did anyone take longer than a few days to get used to them? Did anyone stop taking because of the side affects?

I want my life to improve but i have 2 little ones, not much help, work full time and i dont know what to do for the best.

Thanks

Kelly-ann.

Hi Kelly-ann, the doc didn’t put you on 100mg right away, did he? That would explain why your side effects are so bad. Your doc should have started you on 25mg and work your way up to 100mg. And yes, these are all normal side effects. Unfortunately it takes most of us 4-6 weeks for the side effects to diminish or go away and sometimes they don’t. I feel for you with two young ones and a full-time job. Take care. XX

After reading comments on here i decided my doctor doesnt understand this med well it seems. i dont want to give up so going to keep going and check with another doctor in a couple of weeks in the meantime i have been signed off as dont feel i can drive - blurred vision nausea and just feeling very slow.
