Prostate asorbing antibiotics

Posted , 10 users are following.

The doctor cannot seem to find evidence of bacteria, but when taking cipro the prostate pain gets better. I am very frustrated because as soon as I go off antibiotics the pain comes back. Been on/off for months. Would appreciate advice on how to get the antibiotics to take hold? Whats the best way to get antibiotics to absorb into prostate?

Urine flow is fine, doesnt hurt to pee, and i sleep through the night. I have pain in my middle penis, probably in the urethera, and I have pain between my scrotum and rectum (right where the prostate is). The penis pain is no joke and can make me dizzy. The prostate pain is more dull Nd hurts when i sit too much.

Do you ever get pain around your anus? I used to have pain in the same places as you. Plus the anus. My doc & uro said it wasn't prostatitis. Maybe it been mentioned in this thread. I once read taking fernasteride makes the prostate more permeable for antibiotics

If you did not have prostatitis, what was your issue?  and hoẃ did you fix?

Years ago, I had prostatitis which the doctor said was not due to bacteria. To be a bit gross, he advised me to be careful not to bear down when defecating. He said that urine could backflush into the prostate causing irritation there. He did a test: told me to masturbate, then take some pyridium. Then, not masturbate or have sex for 5 days, after which I was to masturbate into a urine sample container. When I went back that afternoon for a f/u appoiuntment, he showed me that the orange pyridium color had appeared in the urine, which meant that backflushing had occurred. He told me to add metamucil to my morning regimen, not to rush to end urination, and not to bear down. It helped a lot. Years later, with an enlarging prostate, other measures were needed (cutting out caffeinated coffee, cardura, ditropan XL, and, about a year ago, PVP).
