Prostatitis After Oral Sex

Posted , 51 users are following.

Dec 2018 . Had high risk unprotected oral sex. Next day started having pain in my penis particularly the head of my penis. 4-5 days later the pain go to my testicles then prostate. Now, still having issues. i.e Frequent nightly urine, pain in my penis, pain in prostate and legs/thighs, and complete lack of libido/erectile issues. All Stds negative. Any ideas? Should I get semen culture? Everything happened right after this foolish sex mistake. I believe it has to be some type of bacteria or unknown organism. As the issue has caused some irritation on my penis. If anybody else is dealing with similar symptoms or got prostatitis after some type of sex. Please pitch in your own input.

This forum, by default, does not send any email to alert you a reply or someone PM'd you. you might have to go to settings to enable that if so required

Many have posted similar things about this, my hunch is that it is due to in part, some abnormal cells formed after an infection. These cells are not abnormal like cancer cells, but could perhaps be a prelude to that. Cancer do not appear overnight, it takes decades to morphed from a precancer stage to cancer

These cells might be left over things after the trauma and their inflamed state might have been promoted by viruses possibly

After all, many with this condition are labeled as non bacterial prostatitis ie no bact agents found on repeated culture

And docs only give things to manage symptoms

they told me also i have nonbacterial, and then later they found different bacteria.. it made me super angry and upset

what type of test did they do to find it? Im about to get a microgen dx urine and semen test, hope I dont find any bacteria. So far none found with urine sample or urine culture

Typically many have had multiple urine culture and didnt grow anything. And ABXs!. Many have been used from doxy, Azithromycin, flouroqunolones, cephalophorins etc. I dont think it is bacterial per se. It could be as I said the inflammation .. and such a state also exposes you to typical bugs found in the environment..eg Ureaplasma is actually a normal bug in human genital..but when you have the inflammed (prostate/genital) condition, the population might increase and doc says you have Ureaplasama infection, "eventually: found

they found ureaplasma mycoplasma e.coli enterococcus.. and more .. i was so angry

did they prescribe you the right antibiotics afterwards? if so did anything improve? was it a culture or the microgen dx test??

culture and PCR.. they gave me but it didnt remove ALL the symptoms.. only slight improvement

There it is again, enterococcus is another tribe of bact this is said to be a "normal commensal" to the human gut. Ureaplasma is also a normal bug that is found in the genital tract. When you have this lingering viral/inflammation thing, it provides a fertile ground for these ":normal" bug to overpopulate and voila, you later found out you have those bugs during culture .. and those bugs are termed as normal commensal because they exist in normal humans without causing any issue, b ut when you have lingering issues other than them, they overpopulate and grow on culture

yeah but theyre normally not in the prostate right? they should be just in the intestines or not? all this bacteria are making me crazy sometimes..

Had the same exact issue as you. Diagnosed as prostatitis after oral sex. Went to multiple doctors and urologists over a course of 2-3 months. It eventually resolved after doing physical therapy for the pelvic floor. I did stretches, TENS electrode therapy, and refrained from masturbating and sex for an entire month.

I'm not exactly sure why it would occur right after oral sex, but I do think it was a muscular issue especially since we all test negative for bacteria. I know it's odd but I just wanted to share my experience.

after that you did masturbation again and it didnt come back?

I dont think it is muscular, if it is, it means you are allergic? to oral sex. Thats kinda of a stretch to imagine. Bugs are likely the reason but what kind of bug (viral/bacterial/what tribe), its anyone's guess.

The suggestion that it has sth to do with muscle is only a supposition. Many had the issue for a very long time and despite etc things being tried, it came back later, persisted or come and go at different intensities.

I believe it is likely related to sth infectious (at least at the first instance) and later causing lingering inflammation. Viral infection ie HPVs are very very common and docs dont test for this, even if tested, it is useless as accuracy and usefulness are questionable

Most docs will say even if you hv HPVs, it will generally go away after (max) 2yr. This is only an assumption by docs

there is actually massive evidence to suggest some Prostatitis is muscular . in my case it was officially diagnosed via MRI scan and then a prostate biopsy . It was treated successfully with 6 weeks Cypro. it then manifested a couple of years later as non bacterial and no AB's touched it. stress is a major factor. some men tense up in the neck causing pain in neck/ back. Other men tense down below causing a host of unpleasant symptoms.

Massive? What publication is there ? Quote the PubMed sources?.

Prostatitis can be bacterial or abacterial, and most cases are non bacterial ie NBP. The non bacterial prostatitis is a name just to give a label to the condition, but most docs are stumped on the actual cause of NBP. Most docs are only able to provide etc meds to address symptoms, not the source, as the source is yet to date unknown, thus the lingering issue may or may not go away with the intervention, and it can come back again when stressed

The pelvic floor irritation thing is only a suggestion of the source of the problem. It could be possible that due to left over inflammation (or viral flare, they do have ups and downs in terms of "shedding") causes irritation and spread/affect the nearby muscles/nerves.

The observation in NBP cases that most had the issue after sexual encounter strengthen the fact that the instigating issue is very likely infectious agent(s).

The agent may be bacterial or viral or both, and these can/may not be eradicated in totality (some bacterial agents may not be identified or they take dormant form, and wake up on and off depending on stress). Partial eradication or "left over" inflamed tissues or viral infection that can flare, these can cause various lingering irritation.

Here are publications acknowledging the complex nature of CPPS ( NIH Category III Prostatitis is also known as CPPS)

      1. Pubmed 26951713 (article 2016)

        Quote

"As a heterogeneous syndrome, there exists no ‘one size fits all’ therapy with level 1 evidence to guide therapy. This often leads to a* nihilistic approach** to patients and clinical outcomes are poor." *

      2. PMC4316954 (article 2015) Quote

*"Chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS) is a complex condition, characterized by uncertain etiology and by limited response to therapy"
