Prostatitis After Oral Sex
Posted , 51 users are following.
Dec 2018 . Had high risk unprotected oral sex. Next day started having pain in my penis particularly the head of my penis. 4-5 days later the pain go to my testicles then prostate. Now, still having issues. i.e Frequent nightly urine, pain in my penis, pain in prostate and legs/thighs, and complete lack of libido/erectile issues. All Stds negative. Any ideas? Should I get semen culture? Everything happened right after this foolish sex mistake. I believe it has to be some type of bacteria or unknown organism. As the issue has caused some irritation on my penis. If anybody else is dealing with similar symptoms or got prostatitis after some type of sex. Please pitch in your own input.

its almost certainly non bacterial prostatitis. .no test will confirm this and no meds will help . Although for me Diazaplam ( valium) really helped me.
There is a mountain of evidence to suggest how stress causes this issue and when the stress subsides so do the symptoms.Perhaps thats why valium sorted me out. if you want to PM me i will explain in more detail . ive been where u are and its not pleasant.

Read all the comments here, wanted to ask everyone - has anyone asked their Uro to test for Helicobacter Pylori? I've found some sources (medical journals) saying H Pylori may be the cause of prostatitis and apparently, it can't be cultured using the standard lab process? There's a urine test for H Pylori but wondering if there's a PCR test too, to test semen etc.. I'm going to ask my uro. A bit of background - same here, symptoms started within 2 days after oral sex, STI and STI PCR tests - negative, semen and urine culture - negative (haven't tested for Helicobacter though).. Anyway,, it's now been going for almost a year: cipro, levofloxacin, doxy, currently taking fosfomycin with no improvements. The only time I saw improvements was after a Ceftriaxone 2g injection I received at doctors. I'm going to see if I can ask for a 2 week course of injections - Ceftriaxone, but doubt they'll give it to me - UK is buried with all the guidelines and docs are all very conservative..
Check with your doctors re H Pylori - please post here if any luck, or, if you get treated, thanks for reading.

In addition to my earlier post, oral bacteria types could be the reason why culture tests come back negative.. one more source suggests that a broad spectrum antibiotic with good anaerobe coverage should be used, and obviously the one with good prostate penetration.

I haven't been tested for H. Pylori yet but did read a report where a doc claimed a cycle of doxycycline and refraining from receiving oral sex, to prevent reinfection of h. pylori, cured some patients but I was actually taking doxy and it didn't help. The weird thing is though that I started noticing some very mild symptoms for some time before the oral sex, but for some reason that seemed to set it off but then again it could have created more symptoms not related to the previous ones. Also, many months before this started I actually went to a uro thinking I had prostatitis due to the mild yet strange symptoms that eventually went away (low ejaculation, pressure in prostate occasionally, some mild testicle pain) he did a prostate exam, did post exam urine culture, and said I didnt have it. Told my current uro about the most recent symptoms happening after oral sex and he doubted it but then again he admitted he didn't really know the cause. He also said it could be a virus. I'm starting to think there may be different types of non bacterial prostatitis, some viral, some bacterial that don't show up in tests, some where it's only a pelvic muscle problem. I even read a medical report with a study on mice where they were infected with a bacteria that inflamed the prostate and even after the bacteria was killed, the inflammation kept reocurring. Some ppl believe that it may indeed be a bacteria deep in the prostate that creates biofilms or a type of shield around itself that is resistant to antibiotics and don't show up on tests and some have said they cured themselves by using prostate massage, which I'm not in a hurry to try considering a prostate exam made my symptoms worse, to break up the biofilms. The tight pelvic floor muscles may just be one piece of the puzzle so to speak, possibly making you more prone to the infection? Idk. It's also worth mentioning that my symptoms seemed almost gone at one point and I was ready to hop on here and tell you guys the good news but then a very stressful event happened , I stopped stretching and was very stressed and the symptoms came back worse than before (masturbated 2x for 2 days in a row set it off) I for one am a very anxious person with very tight pelvic floor muscles and have received oral sex from a lot of women in my life without any stds or other issues, and from higher risk women than the one after this started, she was a lawyer for God's sake and was not the first time with her but I'm not ruling out the possibility. For now I'm stretching a lot, trying to manage my anxiety and eating an anti inflammatory diet and hoping for some relief in time because I honestly don't know if I'll ever find the cause, I'm just hoping whatever this is works it's way out but idk if it ever will. Wishing the best for everyone going through this.

I really recommend the group "Men suffering from Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome (CPPS)" in face book which has more than one thousand members, and a lot of good tips on stretches and stories. I've learned a lot from this group. The group is searchable so you can search for a symptom and learn what other tenths of people say about that symptom. There's a guy whose last name is Noeth (search for it from the group's search bar) who has a good success story after all this started after a risky sex exposure with a sex worker.

My symptoms started after oral sex also, I have seen several doctors and had several test done and each time they told me I was fine and they found nothing. After doing more research I also linked H Pylori to non bacterial Prostatitis so I got a upper endoscopy done last week, got my results back today and they are negative which crushed me because after dealing with this for 7 months I finally thought I found the problem. Not giving up here, still researching everyday!

stretching pelvic floor and coming to terms that this is not an infection (or if it at one point it's gone) and that instead it's neuromuscular. Antidepressants helped me get out of an anxiety pain loop I was in. I suggest you read the subreddits in Reddit called Prostatitis and another one called PelvicFloor. Sort them by number of votes.
Also join a Face Book group call "Men suffering from CPPS" it has 1.2k members. I've learned a lot from those groups

7 months later my symptoms arent as bad as they once were but i still get flared up but even the flares arent as bad as they used to be but it still sucks. I do have a really bad preexisting anxiety issue im trying to deal with at the moment for sure that just spiraled even deeper after this condition started. maybe its related to all this but honestly idk , maybe it'll improve more once its under control but we'll see but at least its not as bad as it once was.

with all the talks of pelvic floor dysfunction and anxiety being a cause, I do find it odd so many if us had this come on after oral sex...although like I said before I did have some weird symptoms come and go which i suspected to be prostatitis before that ... not sure if we'll ever really find the reason but I hope if somebody find a cause they'll post it on here.

This guy has a good theory on why this condition begins as a bacterial infection (that gets wiped out with abx) but symptoms persist as a neuromuscular / pelvic floor (pain - anxiety cycle) that has to be treated with antidepressants / stretching to break that pain-anxiety loop:

I didn't have that symptom but have seen many people in the groups I mentioned above having the symptom of "no erection". They even have a name for it in the groups: "hard flaccid"
