Prostatitis After Oral Sex

Posted , 51 users are following.

Dec 2018 . Had high risk unprotected oral sex. Next day started having pain in my penis particularly the head of my penis. 4-5 days later the pain go to my testicles then prostate. Now, still having issues. i.e Frequent nightly urine, pain in my penis, pain in prostate and legs/thighs, and complete lack of libido/erectile issues. All Stds negative. Any ideas? Should I get semen culture? Everything happened right after this foolish sex mistake. I believe it has to be some type of bacteria or unknown organism. As the issue has caused some irritation on my penis. If anybody else is dealing with similar symptoms or got prostatitis after some type of sex. Please pitch in your own input.

Did any one have any joy with this? I received oral and ever since ive got such a mix of symptoms. The worst is the impact in penis glans especially when erect.

Saw a urologist who said likely prostitis and has given me 4 weeks of doxy.

Ive seen all the various threads and dont have much faith.

It's an embedded infection, the bacteria made its way through the urethra through to your prostate/ seminal vessels. You can read more about this or consult with Professor Malone lee or doctor Stewart Bundrick, they both do online consultations too, but you'll most likely need long term full dose antibiotics, levaquin or doxy being good starting options.

Hi all. Here is what I've learned. Sharing in case it helps someone, but I fully recognise that each case is potentially quite different.

I have had the same symptoms - constant feeling at penis tip of needing to urinate, some urethra irritation etc. No infection showed from urine culture and urine dipsticks always normal. Cystoscopy had no unusual findings. No bladder infection.

    A few points:

Semen culture found the bug - an E. coli strain in my case. Multi-antibiotic resistant. Showed as heavy growth. This allowed the choosing of an antibiotic that had sensitivity. Microscopy showed same i.e. abundant presence of bacteria. Was simply not being captured by urine culture. This can happen. Semen culture is often not done for a variety of reasons (practical reasons as well as microbiological ones), but sometimes the interpretation of the result is very clear. Consider it with your doctor.

Try to see if D-mannose helps. I have managed to somewhat control urethra symptoms (not eliminate) with regular intake of D-mannose. This is only of benefit with E. coli. If you don't have confirmed E. coli infection it still may be worth trying in off-chance that it is E. coli. This bug is the most common cause of UTI and bacterial prostatitis. D-mannose is a naturally occurring simple sugar present in some foods. It has various functions in nature, but here it works by binding the outside of E. coli. Hence, the E. coli can not attach to the tract, and gets more easily eliminated with urination. According to most manufacturers, it is safe to use, as the body does not use this sugar readily for energy and most of it gets eliminated in urine. Its available in health food shops. Many women use it for bladder infections. Its use in men is less common. Consider with your doctor, esspecially if diabetic.

These are just some of my experiences. I hope they are helpful to someone.

If they found the bug in your semen, did you get ABX for that.. and then it clears up?

yes. you are prescribed antibiotics. the sensitivity will then be shown, which guides the doctor as to what antibiotic to use.

my infection cleared up. it then came back a few months later. this can happen with chronic infection

If it came back, then it became NBP ie non bacterial.. some ppl say the inflammation lingers after the initial infection

That can happen. but is not what happened with me. The E. coli colonised again. What is much more common is that there is chronic infection. Read about chronic bacterial prostatitis. it used to be the thinking that non-bacterial was after acute prostatitis. Howver, now it is clear that chronic infection is common. Many bugs & E. coli in particular form biofilm. This is where the bacterium forms a layer/extracellular matrix of materiall. Bacterial cells in a biofilm can be dormant. Antibiotics and indeed elements of the immune system find penetration of biofilm difficult. Also some antibiotics work by not killing bacterial cells, but stopping them replicating. Hence, no impact on some dormant bacterial cells. So once off antbiotics the cycle can begin again.

I have the same issue, anytime I receive oral sex I almost always come down with prostatitis. Bactrim used to work, but now just makes the issue work. So far the only relief has been doxycycline hyclate, not doxy mono. I have realized going on runs can help speed up recovery, but mine is chronic and comes back every fee months. Doctors do not help in most cases and its up to you to basically spell out the treatment you need.

Hi, i'm new to this site but I'm 26 years old and for some reason every single time i receive oral i get pain around my genital area including rectum and prostate. Literally the next day or even a few hours later. I dont have any std's or sti's. I've had ultrasounds done on my bladder and prostate but everything looks fine. This would be the 4th time I've gotten this and I'm just tired of it. I have been on Doxy for a month the first 3 times and it worked but i still feel like it's just a matter of time before something triggers it again. Like i love oral as much as the next guy but man this is just unbelievably stressful. Does anyone know any home remedies (anything!) Please! Btw when i massage my prostate the pain is a lot more tolerable but the second i stop it slowly creeps back in. I'm a gay male & was wondering if anal sex would help or it's probably not a good idea cause it might make it worse!?!

When was it that you had this starting?

I mean , have you ever had it before the problem popped up.. ie perhaps when you were younger, had oral..and do not have this issue
