Interested in hearing peoples symptoms and experiances with this. I had pvd of the left eye and sure enough 6 months later, right eye. Having problems dealing with it. When both eyes are affected, hard not to think of it 24/7. Would like to hear others stories. Thanks.

    Greeting,

i am 51 years old and i have pvd the third week on my right eye. Floaters and flashes on the edge of the eye. I went to the hospital for an emergency checkup. They did an immediate examination of the back segment of my eye and saw a Weiss ring in my eye but the retina was fine. Now I’m going for another checkup so we’ll see further.

However, I have had glaucoma that I have been treating for 20 years and I have twice a year control.

I was instructed not to strain and lift heavy loads, and to take vitamin C fortified.

I wonder if you also received instructions regarding pvd? Can you work normally at work (computer), read books, drive a car? Thanks.

I had a PVD in my right eye 3 years ago and it seemed to clear up quite quickly. 6 weeks ago it started in my left eye and is much worse. I've had 2 normal examinations including at an emergency eye clinic and nobody seems very concerned.

The most disturbing symptom is the pulsing sensation, particularly in bright light and I noticed a couple of people mentioned this a year or so ago. Can I ask what happened with this? How long did it last? The eye specialist shrugged his shoulders and said it would probably clear up in a couple of weeks - it hasn't. Thanks.

I had a PVD in the left eye one year ago and unfortunately the floaters have been getting a lot worse since. It started with some black spots and the occasional smudge moving across my field of view but lately those smudges have been extremely present at all time. That was confirmed by the specialist who examined my eyes 3 months ago. I'm just worried that it is going to worsen more. I was told that it would improve overtime but i have been experiencing the opposite. I was also told the brain would get use to it but it is not the case as it is impossible to ignore.

hi, I know this is a post from a long time ago, but have you ever had any resolution with the pulse that you could see in your vision I had a PVD diagnosis seven weeks ago, but I also had a headache and I have gone through MRIs and CT scans and retina specialist about four weeks and also started noticing that weird pulse in my vision, that I cannot seem to get answers to I have read everybody’s responses on here. I can’t find a lot of information . Out of anything I could find one person mentioned, idiopathic, intercranial, hypertension, and I have mentioned that to neurology and and they were trying to send me to a Nuro ophthalmologist and it got denied. Apparently he didn’t think he needed to see me, but I continue to have this pulse and headache, etc. and just wondered if anybody had any other outcomes or ideas or if it ever went away thank you
