robbiekew:  Here is what I posted approximately six months ago:

    Begin former post:

"Greetings to my Brothers in Suffering,  I'm 65 years old and was diagnosed eight years ago with BPH.  For the past eight years I've been prescribed Avodart and once-daily Cialis.  Intermittently over the past eight years, I've tried to give up these pharmaceuticals and try supplements. Sadly, I had eventually had to go back on Avodart and Cialis.  DISCLAIMER: I'VE TRIED EVERY KNOWN SUPPLEMENT UNDER THE SUN.  Some seem to work better than others.

BREAKTHROUGH;  While it's too soon to tell (14 days), Quercetin + Bromelain and Flower Pollen have made a noticeable difference.  Nocturia is down to twice per night, as opposed to six or seven times in the past. If you're relatively new to the joys of BPH, and you're on the fence about maybe trying a supplement, then you may want to consider the above.  It's my intent to follow up on this post three months from now on August 17.  Final note, I'm so grateful to the guys on here for sharing what they know."

    End former post.

Can honestly say that of all the supplements I've tried, it seems quercetin with bromelain (as one supplement) and flower pollen gave me the most relief.  That said, while my situation hasn't worsened, my symptoms are aggravating and I've reached the point where I want to pursue surgical intervention.  I'm therefore scheduled for a Rezum at some point in January.  If you're going to try quercetin with bromelain and flower pollen - or any other supplement for that matter - you need to give them enough time.  I noticed results after two months, with slightly more improvement at four months.  Be aware.  Of all the supplements I've tried, quercetin with bromelain and flower pollen were the priciest.  Expensive urine?  Who can say for sure? Maybe my symptoms would have been much worse, had I not tried them.  Final note.  Don't expect miracles.  Hope this helps my friend.

      Hi Alan,

I've bought a product with Quer. & Brom. on-line thru the Vitamin Shoppe. I've been taking 2 tabs per day for about 30 days now....with NO change in frequency of urination...sad to report. My Uro. gave me a script for Rapaflo but i wanted to try the natural product first .. The price of Rapaflo at CVS is Florida is $229. for a 30 day supply ...yikes !!  any ideas are gladly appreciated

Try doxazosin or terazosin. You can get them at Walmart or rite aid for less than $10 for 30 days. Hank

hello Hank,  thanks for your reply ... have you had or know about success with these products ?

the Quer & Brom. product didn't work ...but worth a try i guess.  I found out about a fairly new procedure called PAE ... i'm looking into having it done.

I have been taking doxazosin for almost 9 years, starting out with 2mg a day, went up last year to 4 mg. Some people take as high as 16 mg. It helps me a lot, allows me to postpone any surgeries.

Just like rapaflow, it has potential side effects, including retro ejaculation, and low blood pressure, both of them I experienced. But it is very cheap. I think I had 90 tablets of 8 mg at rite aid for us$16. I bought 8 mg and I split them using a pill cutter to save money further.

PAE is something I would try if my situation worsens. Hank
