Ramipril joint pain side effect

Posted , 33 users are following.

I have been taking Ramipril 10mg for a few months now.

I have experienced the tickly cough, but not often so thats ok, the one problem I'm worried by is joint pain.

I went from 5mg to 7.5mg to 10mg it has been whilst I have been on this higher dose that my arm joint to my shoulder have started to hurt, with sometimes sharp pain, also a sharp pain in the base of my index finger but again very occasionly.

I worry that if I go and talk to my doctor he may try and treat the joint pain with yet another drug which itself might have side effects, and the spiral then goes on into old age.

I am only 51 and will continue to take the medication but will monitor my problems and eventually have a chat with my GP.

If anyone else has had joint pain I'd be interested in their stories.

Cheers

Simon :D

Simon, sorry to hear about your joint pain I had the same issue although I don't think my GP believed me. I am sure if you get the opportunity to see your GP that they will be able to offer an alternative if you have to stay on medication. I stopped taking Ramipril because of the side effects but you should take advice from your GP first especially since you have had surgery. Best of luck.

I've been on ramipril 2.5mg for nearly year a top on another BP tablet...

ive been put on acid reflux meds after suffering a dry tickly cough, so sore especially at night. now taking gavasgon because that makes me burp. but still I cough especially at night. been to ent incase it was throat cancer, blocked sinuses.

After reading this I'm beginning to think that I've not got acid reflux but just a side effect.

seem to be given a tablet for a tablet.

think I want to stop acid reflux meds and ramapril and stick to Amlodipine 5mg.

I'm also experiencing upper arm pain and hip pain
