Hi just wonder if anyone would be concerned pre op Regarding alcohol consumed over the holiday season?

I have had a drink most days in the last few weeks what with Christmas and New Year but also to steady my nerves , I maybe have been above the limit and hope this doesn't have a detrimental effect on my Surgery or recovery , best mention it tomorrow I guess , thanks for reading

It should be out of your system now and no effect. Don't check in with a open bottle scotch. Good luck

Hi Steve I could say purely for medicinal purposes , don't think I'd get away with it though

My op was 19th Dec and my Christmas do was 15th....it's fair to say I didn't hold back on the tequilas and it made no difference to my op 😊. It did however make my 16th Dec a very hungover and ill one :p

    Good luck!xx

Honestly I drank but stopped the night before the op.  I'm not an expert, or medical...Good luck!

It won't make any difference now Angie, don't bother mentioning it unless you have drunk Alcohol in the last 48 hours.

Good luck with the op xx

alcohol is a definite no no - it gets in the way of the healing process so I'd stop for a good while and I'd mention it for sure to the docs/nurses etc.

You'll be in good hands Angie. Hang on in there, your op will soon be over.

Ps, I didn't give alcohol a thought. Went to the pub with some colleagues the night before, just had one glass of wine early evening. My recovery so far has been brilliant. Good luck!
