    Mojgan,

This is major surgery and most people elect to have it because of debilitating pain, no mobility/range of motion or because of injury and they no longer have any quality of life. For most people it's the last resort. You may want a 2nd opinion.

when i had my hip done i hardly had any pain i only hada replacement because of a accident i broke my femur so they to do n=my hip as well

Hi (64 yesterday)- I was the same with times when it was painful and times when not but limited movement at all times. Had operation 1st Dec and now totally pain free and walking without any limp. Slowly building up fitness but all going well.

What convinced me was the x ray which showed the hip and in the words of the consultant "its a bit of a mess isn't it ?". Whilst not being an expert there was no gap in the hip which confirmed as to why I had the pain in the first place

It is obviously diffrent for everyone but for me the decision was the right one

    Best wishes

I never used a stick or crutch to walk with anywhere before the operation. I had a bad limp and was in pain most of the time, walking and sitting. I could not stand for long, or drive far.

My symptoms got very much better after the surgery. I don't have pain anymore except if I do too much. Everyone is different. Usually people are much better after the op but the recovery time is long.

I think her doctor is the only one who can answer that question- most are happy to explain why surgery is needed. Good luck.

I talk with her doctor yesterday and ask about complication and outcome of this surgery.doctor said it must done for a better life

That was what my doctor said. He said my bad hip was destroying my knee and the restricted movement of my hip affected other knee & hip too. So, to keep from hurting other joints the hip has to go.

      Good luck.
